摘要: High-speed video interfaces, video endpoints, and related methods are disclosed. A high-speed video interface includes a system cable, a remote camera unit, and a main processing unit. The system cable includes one or more twisted pairs. A method includes capturing near-end video images including multi-channel, high-definition video data, serializing the video data, and transmitting the serialized video data to the main processing unit through a single one of the one or more twisted pairs of the system cable with the remote camera unit. The method also includes deserializing the serialized video data with the main processing unit. A video endpoint configured to enable an audibly impaired user to participate in video communication sessions for audibly impaired users includes the high-speed video interface.

摘要: A communication system comprises a server configured to associate a plurality of communication devices with each other in a user group. Each communication device of the plurality of communication devices is associated with a group-wide individual unique identifier that is unique as to other members of the same group; a network-wide individual unique identifier that is unique as to other communication devices of the network; and a group unique identifier that is shared with the plurality of communication devices of the user group. A method comprises receiving a call request including a group-wide individual unique identifier, and sending an outgoing call to the individual communication device. The group-wide individual unique identifier is unique to an individual communication device within a user group of communication devices that is smaller than a number of communication devices configured for communication on a network.

摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed for visually indicating an occurrence of an event. A spatial visual indicator system comprises a spatial visual indicator including a plurality of illuminatable elements configured in at least a two-dimensional arrangement. The spatial visual indicator displays a visual indicator pattern corresponding to a detected event. A control circuit is configured to detect an event, and cause a transceiver to send a communication indicating a visual indicator pattern corresponding to the event to the spatial visual indicator. The spatial visual indicator is configured to display the visual indicator pattern. The spatial visual indicator is located remote to the transceiver. A method of indicating an occurrence of an event comprises receiving a communication indicating one of a plurality of visual indicator patterns that is associated with a detected event. The method also includes displaying the one of the plurality of visual indicator patterns.

摘要: Methods and apparatuses for automated multi-lingual support are described herein. A relay service provides translation services between a hearing-impaired user and a hearing-capable user. The relay service includes a database with one or more entries. Each of the one or more entries is associated with a contact of the hearing-impaired user and includes one or more connection indicators for the contact and one or more spoken languages for the contact. A profile system determines an identified entry in the database using a calling connection indicator associated with the hearing-capable user to compare with the one or more connection indicators. A call distribution system establishes a calling connection over a voice-capable network with the calling connection indicator associated with the hearing-capable user and routes the calling connection to a translator capable in the one or more spoken languages associated with the hearing-capable user determined from the identified entry.

摘要: A method, system and device for relay call transfer services in hearing-impaired communications is described. A voice phone number of a relay service is entered into a voice phone and a first segment of a communication session is established between a hearing-capable user on a voice phone and a relay service. The hearing-capable caller provides the relay service with a contact number of a hearing-impaired user. The relay service accesses the user profile of the hearing-impaired user and determines the user's preferred communication devices listed from most preferred to least preferred. An interpreter or communications assistant attempts to establish a connection to the hearing-impaired user's most preferred communication device. If the relay service fails to establish a connection with the most preferred communication device, the relay service can then transfer the call to a subsequent call service system that corresponds to the hearing-impaired user's next most preferred communication device.

摘要: A videoconferencing system couples to a network for providing videoconferencing services to a user. The videoconferencing session is controlled and initiated by a user in a manner consistent with establishing a conventional audio-only session. In one embodiment, an independently operable voice-only telephone handset couples to an audio and video communication device. The videoconferencing session is established by taking the telephone handset to an off-hook status and entering a dialed phone number sequence. The audio and video communication device retrieves a network address corresponding to the dialed phone number sequence and initiates a call sequence corresponding to the retrieved network address until the telephone handset goes into an on-hook status. The audio and video communication device further includes video interfaces for presenting the video aspects to the user.

摘要: A video conferencing circuit (12) is configured to receive an input (26) from one of a plurality of video input devices. The video signal is then stored, compressed and transmitted by an interface circuit such as a modem (18). Video signals from a remote location are received from the modem (18), decompressed, stored and then transferred for display on one of a plurality of video output devices.
