A cover method for baseballs or softballs, whereby a spherical core is independently formed and a fiber material layer is attached, this fiber material layer is evenly brushed with a thin layer of PU, and this spherical core is then placed in a mold, and PU is injected into the mold to cover the spherical core and heated, finally the mold is removed to reveal the complete ball. Utilizing this method and mold to produce the ball covers for baseballs and softballs, whereby PU is brushed onto, and penetrates into, the fiber material layer on the independently formed spherical core, so that when the ball cover forms, the ball cover and spherical core attaches and fits firmly, and the porous construction of this fiber material cover attracts air, and therefore greatly avoids bubbles forming when the ball cover is formed which affects the quality and lifespan of the balls.

In a preferred embodiment, the mold comprises a lid and a bowl releasingly engageable to define a mold cavity, the lid comprising: (i) a vent having a passageway for gas to escape from the mold cavity, and (ii) a plurality of grooves connected to the vent. The use of a plurality of grooves/slots in the mold cavity surface effectively acts as a siphon to draw gas away from the composition to be molded. The plurality of grooves/slots is connected to one or more vents which then allows for escape of the gas from the mold cavity to the exterior of the mold.

The present disclosure relates to a packaging system for producing a foam-in bag and method of mixing foam for the packaging of articles for shipment and storage, and in particular, to an improved, flexible, multilayered packaging system with a vented, deformable outer bag and an inner confinement structure made of paperboard box or a plastic bag with reclosable opening for optimal mixing and controlled release of the foam using preferential paths, score lines, weakness points, and/or obstacles to flow. In addition, the precursor fluids are placed in individually sealed pouches with calibrated and aptly positioned frangible seals to facilitate mixing after rupture inside of the inner confinement structure. In another embodiment, one of the precursor fluids is placed directly in the inner confinement structure, and in yet another embodiment, both sealed pouches are adhesively joined to the inner confinement structure. What is also disclosed is a method of mixing foam precursors in the different embodiments of the foam-in-bag packaging system.
