    摘要: An obturating assembly includes a body having an aperture for passage to the pipe of a fuel supply spout of predetermined outer diameter and an obturator moveable with respect to the body, able to assume an obturating position in which it conceals the passage aperture and a freeing position in which it does not conceal it, the obturator being driven towards the freeing position by that spout when it meets the obturator during a thrusting movement of the spout into the head. In accordance with the invention, the passage aperture is provided in an oblique wall or wall portion, with the angular offset between the orientation of said obturator in the obturating position and the transverse orientation being at least equal to 20°.

    摘要: A fuel filler pipe having a dimpled filler neck, wherein the dimples serve to concentrically locate a nozzle end portion of a pump nozzle of a service station fuel pump so as to avoid premature fuel flow shut-off during fueling of the fuel tank of a motor vehicle. The dimpled filler neck is provided with three or more nozzle location dimples in the form of bosses radially protruding relative to an adjacent inner surface of the dimpled filler neck. Preferably, the dimpled filler neck has three or four mutually uniformly spaced nozzle location dimples. The nozzle location dimples are positioned at the engagement zone of the nozzle end portion with respect to the filler neck such as to loosely abut the pump nozzle and thereby ensure concentric alignment of the nozzle end portion with respect to the inner surface of the filler neck.

    摘要: A fuel tank for an automobile has a separator film to separate the inside of a fuel storage container of the fuel storing device into a fuel storage part and a space. The separator film is movable with a surface of liquid fuel in the fuel storage part. A filler pipe is connected to the fuel storage part. The filler pipe has a nozzle seal that seals a gap with respect to a refueling nozzle inserted into the filler pipe. A conduit communicates a part of the filler pipe adjacent to the nozzle seal with an upper part of the fuel storage part. A closure preventing means prevents the separator film from closing an opening of the conduit at the upper part of the fuel storage part. The closure preventing means prevents a negative pressure from being produced around the refueling nozzle before the fuel storage container is fully filled with fuel. When the refueling nozzle has an automatic stopper, the closure preventing means lets the automatic stopper stop the supply of fuel in response to a negative pressure only after the fuel storage container is fully filled with fuel.
