摘要： In forming a donut-like headrest under a foaming process, a sealing garnish element is provided, which includes a garnish portion and an edge abutment portion. Prior to a foaming step, the sealing garnish element is brought to a donut-like trim cover assembly and inserted fit in an annular opening formed in the annular inward wall region of the trim cover assembly, such that the edge portions of the annular opening are abutted against the edge abutment portion of sealing garnish element, while the garnish portion is attached on and along the annular inward wall region of trim cover assembly. Hence, during the foaming step, those edge abutment and garnish portions of sealing garnish element effectively prevents a liquid foaming base material injected in the trim cover assembly, against leakage from the annular opening.

摘要： In order to manufacture a head rest skin as a final product, a main portion (G) of the skin, which lacks a lower surface portion (K) of the skin, necessary to complete the head rest skin as the final product, is prepared first. Then, a lower surface opening peripheral edge (g) of the main portion (G) of the skin is turned up to expose a back surface of the skin, and a decorated surface (I) of the main portion (G) of the skin is folded into the turned up lower surface opening peripheral edge. A peripheral edge (k) of a lower surface portion (K) of the skin and the lower surface opening peripheral edge (g) of the main portion (G) of the skin are overlapped one upon another in such a manner that the decorated surfaces of these edges (g), (k) confront each other with the back surface (R) of the lower surface portion (K) of the skin facing outward, and the overlapped peripheral edge portions are thereafter joined. Then, the main portion (G) of the skin on the decorated surface side is pulled out by taking advantage of a slit 9 formed in the lower surface portion (K) of the skin so that the skin is arranged right side out.

At least one inflatable thoracic adjustment bladder is positioned between the shell and the flexible plate between the bracket and the upper end. The contour of the seat assembly is adjustable by inflating and deflating the lumbar and thoracic bladders. A head restraint system includes a damper mechanism positioned between the upper end of the shell and the head restraint for energy management in a high energy impact.

摘要： A neck protection device (10)for a driver (10) or other occupant of a high performnace vehicle adapted to reduce motions or loading in the neck and upper torso is described. The device includes in combination a stiff yoke (12) with a high collar (11) extending up from the yoke and a set of tethers (15, 15a and 15b) for attachment to the lateral and rear portions of a helmet (16) and collar. The high collar extends upward to adjacent the center of gravity of the head and helmet which is at about eye level of the occupant. The tethers on the collar allow needed head movements and yet reduce the potential for fatigue and crash injury by carrying forces which would otherwise be transmitted through the neck and by reducing extreme motions of the neck.

摘要： A protective device for the side or rear of a vehicle occupant''s head comprises flexible parallel straps secured under tension at their ends to fixed members which are parts of the body or of a seat back, the straps normally having their faces approximately at right angles to the general plane of the curtain formed by the straps, which are thus normally edge-on to the occupant''s head. Such an arrangement may be placed at the back or at the side of the occupant''s head. When a limiting condition of vehicle deceleration or acceleration is exceeded, the straps are twisted through 90* by loading, or in dependence upon a sensor, so that they form a curtain-like reception surface for the head. The arrangement of parallel straps resembles a Venetian blind which is normally open, but which is closed under the limiting condition referred to.
