Abstract: A pedal includes an axle connected with a crank shaft. An axle seat is rotatably connected to the axle and a pedal unit is connected to the axle seal. At least one torque detection sensor is connected to at least one end of the axle seat by the least one fixing unit. When the pedal unit is applied by a force, the force is transferred to the at least one torque detection sensor via the axle seat. The at least one torque detection sensor generates a signal corresponding to the force and the signal is transferred to at least one signal transmitting module. The signal is used to control the output of the assistance system of the electric bike.

Abstract: A clipless pedal platform adapter can include first and second platforms. Each platform can have an outer side to interface with a user's foot and an inner side to interface with a clipless pedal, the inner sides facing one another. First and second side members can also be pivotally coupled to the first and second platforms at opposite ends of the platforms such that a distance between the platforms is variable. The first and second platforms and the first and second side members can define a pedal opening to receive the pedal. The first and second platforms can be biased toward one another to force the inner sides against the pedal thereby coupling the clipless pedal platform adapter to the pedal.

Abstract: A bicycle pedal is disclosed that consists of a pedal body including a pair of surfaces interchangeably configured to receive a foot and an axle having a first end configured to be received by a crank arm of a bicycle and having a second end received into the pedal body, the axle configured to rotate with respect to the pedal body. The second end of the axle is configured to rotate freely within the pedal body without a bearing system. The bicycle pedals disclosed herein include a fewer number of parts than conventional bicycle pedals, and yet may be stronger and more durable, than conventional bicycle pedals. Further, the bicycle pedals disclosed herein may be manufactured in less time and at lower costs than conventional bicycle pedals.

Abstract: A method and a system for calculating a work done by pedaling and a smart pedal are provided. The method is adapted for a calculation apparatus to calculate a work done by a user pedaling a bicycle apparatus including a smart pedal disposed at an end of a crank arm opposite to a chainring and an orientation sensor for detecting a rotation angle of the crank arm. In the method, a pedaling force applied by the user to the smart pedal is detected by using a pressure sensor; meanwhile, the rotation angle of the crank arm when the user pedals the smart pedal is detected by using the orientation sensor. The work done by the user on the smart pedal is calculated based on the pedaling force and the rotation angle of the crank arm detected at each time point within a time period that the user applies the force.

Abstract: A bicycle pedal contains: a body, a plurality of self-lubricating bearings, a connection shaft, a tapered sleeve, and a threaded sleeve. The body includes a through hole configured to accommodate the connection shaft. The connection shaft includes a first taper section and a first screwing section fitting with the tapered sleeve and the threaded sleeve. Abstract: A measuring device for a pedal plane angle of a bicycle includes a pedal body, an angle sensing unit and a central processing unit (CPU). The angle sensing unit is disposed in an accommodating chamber of the pedal body, and senses an angle of the pedal body to send an angle sensing signal. The CPU analyzes the angle sensing signal to obtain angle data of the pedal body relative to an angle of a reference plane to accordingly learn an angle relationship between the pedal body and the reference plane. The angle relationship may coordinate with other sensing units, for example, data of a pedaling force sensing unit to mutually correct and analyze the data, so as to obtain correct pedaling force information. With the angle data, whether a pedaling angle of a rider is correct can be learned to prevent sports injuries caused by incorrect pedaling angles.

Abstract: An improved pedal driven scooter may have a mainframe, a joint-frame, a front balance and steering mechanism, one or two front steering wheel(s), a rear drive wheel, and a drive mechanism. The pedals are pushed rearward and move independent of each other within an adjustable angle range. The drive mechanism translates the alternative movement of the pedals into unidirectional rotation, which is further multiplied, and drives the real wheel. A leaning control mechanism allows a rider stay mounted when the vehicle is stopped. The scooter can be folded with the joint frame pivoting at both ends, such that the rear-wheel docks between or near the front wheel(s) and the scooter can be carried as if it were a carry-on luggage. The scooter may be further folded for storage with the help of a folding hinge which connects a lower part and an upper part of the front steering mechanism.
