    摘要: A sailing craft having a hull with a longitudinal midplane. A primary boom is pivotally mounted on the hull for 360.degree. continuous rotation in either direction about a central vertical axis. The primary boom is connected by lines to a sail boom. At least one angled mast is mounted to the hull and extends upwardly. The mast has a top, the top is disposed approximately above the central vertical axis of the primary boom. A sail is carried by the sail boom and extends upwardly and substantially symmetrically about the central vertical axis. The sail is supported from the top of the at least one mast. The sail boom with the sail thereon has completely free 360.degree. rotation in either direction avoiding contact with the mast. The sail has flake lines swivelably connected to the top of the mast permitting rotation of the sail and flaking of the sail. A tension device maintains tension on the top of the halyard so the sail luff becomes tight when the primary boom rotates either end forward.

    摘要: A mast for a sailboat includes at least two mast components having a lower end attached to the boat on opposite sides of a longitudinal median plane of the boat. Upper ends of the mast components are connected to each other. Each of the mast components has an aerodynamically profiled cross-section and is angularly movable around its longitudinal axis as a function of wind direction in order to obtain the best aerodynamic or aerologic output of a sail set and rigging assembly. The mast components are coupled to a system which provides independent angular slewing of the mast components with respect to one another and the wind. The system includes a coupling bar which is hingedly attached via connecting rods to the mast components. The coupling bar is mounted on the deck of the boat and is capable of guided translational movement when fitted with control means.

    摘要: A sloop comprising a mast in the form of an A-frame with its plane athwartships. The luff of the mainsail is supported by a mainstay which is a thin wire or rod running from the apex of the A-frame vertically to a point on deck between the legs of the A-frame. This structure eliminates the turbulence along the leading edge or luff of the mainsail caused by conventional masts, and also permits a headsail to be closely hauled. The A-frame comprises one or more rigid horizontal spreaders and the mainsail boom and a spinnaker pole can be slidably mounted thereon.
