摘要: A resilient, shock absorption assembly that mounts between available sail rigging lines and a boat hull. In one assembly, a piston is resiliently biased relative to a housing and contained spring to permit reciprocating movement. Couplers at distal ends of the piston and housing attach to suitable rigging lines and/or the boat. In other assemblies, resilient elastomer cores bias movement of a piston or cable. In another assembly fitted within a main sail boom, a cable biases the boom rigging lines. In still another construction, an “A-shape”, mast replacement framework is secured to pivot from a boat's deck. Resiliently biased cables act as a mast and support a sail boom. One or more separate resilient assemblies can be coupled to the sail. The cable mast and rigging lines are thus made resilient to counterbalance the boat against heeling with the presence of rough water and gusty winds.

摘要: A sailing craft having a center hull, a port hull and a starboard hull. The port and starboard hulls are adjustably connected to the center hull by bridge beams such that the port starboard hulls may be disposed adjacent to, or outward from, the center hull. An inverted U-shaped mast has legs angled outwardly and connected to the port and starboard hulls when the mast is erect and legs which are substantially parallel when the mast is stepped down for storage on the center hull. A primary boom is rotatably connected to the center hull and rotates through 360.degree.. An articulating boom is pivotally connected to each of the ends of the primary boom. A sail shape boom is connected to the articulating booms by a trolley on each articulating boom. The head of a sail is connected to the top of the mast and the foot of the sail is connected to the sail shape boom. The sail and booms are rotatable through 360.degree. without contacting the mast. Sail lines connected to the edges of the sail are separated into support lines which are disposed over the surfaces of the sail and connected to wishbone spars to maintain luff and each alignment and control the sail shape by equal tensioning applied by the halyard.

摘要: The invention relates to light, sailing vehicles equipped with at least one sail fixed on a mast and attached to a boom. The mast is supported toward its middle part at the top of a two-legged support, in the form of an inverted V, and mounted rigidly on the frame of the vehicle, while the foot of the mast is mounted in such a manner as to be capable of sliding along a cross member substantially perpendicular to the plane of symmetry of said frame and shifted toward the front with respect to the transverse plane passing through the top of the two-legged support.

摘要: The sailing vessel of the present invention includes a hull of omnidirectional construction, and a generally triangular sail which is supported along two side edges, with the third side edge unsupported and extending generally horizontally. The angular position of the sail with respect to the hull is fixed, and the heading of the boat is varied in order to orient the sail at the desired angle with respect to the wind. A pivotally mounted centerboard controls the direction or heading of the boat and control lines are provided for altering the shape of the sail to further control the direction and speed of sailing.

摘要: A sail system comprising a substantially isosceles-triangle-shaped sail with two booms and an arc-shaped element. The two booms are arranged along substantially equal sides of the sail and articulated to one another with a joint that defines a vertex of the triangle. The arc-shaped element is coupled to a deck of a boat for pivoting about a transverse axis between a raised position and a lowered position on the deck. Each boom has a coupling element on the arc-shaped element, the coupling element being slidable both along the arc-shaped element and along the respective boom.

摘要: An A frame mast is pivoted relative to a sailboat hull and supports a lateen yard. A boom is coupled to the yard and to the sailboat hull at the bow. The A frame mast is supported in all positions by struts that lead from each leg of the A frame mast to slidable connections on the hull which permits the mast to be raised and lowered. In other forms, a foldable mast assembly for a sailboat uses a rotatable stub mast and a boom mounted at the upper end thereof. An A frame mast is pivoted relative to the boom and carries a lateen yard that can be raised and lowered by a halyard at the top of the mast structure. To raise and lower the mast, a pair of struts are pivoted thereto and are slidably connected to the sailboat hull or boom so that by using mechanical advantage coupled to the slidable connection, the mast be raised and lowered.
