摘要: A multiplicity of wafer-type workpieces are buffer stored in a device having, a frame, at least two transport elements which each circulate in a vertical direction around an upper and a lower deflection device connected to the frame and are provided, at uniform intervals, with a multiplicity of bearing areas for the horizontal mounting of workpieces, wherein at least one of the deflection devices of each transport element is driven and a free space is situated between the transport elements, a loading position between the upper deflection devices at which a workpiece can be placed onto corresponding bearing areas, and a stationary removal device below the loading position, comprising a horizontal transport device, the first end of which lies within the free space between the transport elements. The invention also relates to a method for buffer-storing a multiplicity of wafer-type workpieces using the abovementioned device.

摘要: An adjustable reservoir for articles such as smoking articles and smoking article filters comprises a plurality of conveyors mounted one above another in a vertical stack, each conveyor comprising an endless belt defining a curved conveying path of constant radius extending between two ends proximally spaced to define a gap through which articles carried by the belt may drop, and a drive mechanism operable to rotate at least one conveyor about the vertical axis of the stack so as to change the angular position of the gap of that conveyor relative to the gaps of adjacent conveyors. Changing the relative angular positions of the gaps allows the capacity of the reservoir to be adjusted, and further adjustment can be achieved by changing the direction of travel of the conveyor belts. The drive mechanism can be configured to move one or more groups of conveyors in unison, or to move each conveyor individually.

摘要: A method for filling a plurality of containers in cycles at a predetermined number of stationary filling units arranged in a row with a first spacing from each other. The method includes providing a plurality of positively guided containers in a row, one-by-one, wherein the containers have a uniform second spacing from each other, wherein the first spacing of the individual filling units is a whole-number multiple of the second spacing of the containers, and filling a predetermined number of the containers simultaneously at the filling units. The containers are shifted in cycles along the filling units in a transport direction by a step length, which is a whole-number multiple of the second spacing of the containers and which is shorter than a third spacing between a first filling unit and a last filling unit steps of filling and shifting are repeated over a predetermined number of iterations.

摘要: A loading head for use with food articles has a main conveyor adapted to convey a plurality of food articles, an indexing conveyor positioned beneath the main conveyor, and a transfer member positioned between the main conveyor and the indexing conveyor. The transfer member is adapted to transfer each food article from the main conveyor to the indexing conveyor. A buffering mechanism is adapted to move the transfer member between a first position and a variable second position. A pusher mechanism is associated with the indexing conveyor to raise and lower gates from an open position permitting food article transfer to a closed position prohibiting food article transfer. The pusher mechanism includes a cam operably associated with the gates to open and close the gates.

摘要: The apparatus comprises an incoming conveyor and a revolving device, in which grippers (9) circulate at a regular first spacing (T1) over a closed circulating path (10). The grippers (9) can be individually switched between a first state, in which they take hold of the products (2) and carry them along, into a second state, in which they release the products from the grippers. At a transfer point (11) the grippers (9) pass above the incoming conveyor (1). They are switched at the transfer point (11) into the first state, in which they each take hold of a product and carry it along. A store (16) has carriers (19) which circulate at a regular second spacing (T2) in a closed, second circulating path (15). The second circulating path (15) runs over a buffer region (20) parallel to the first circulating path (11). Within the buffer region (20) the grippers (9) can be switched into their second state. The circulating speed of the grippers (9) is greater than the circulating speed of the carriers (9). A control device (29) controls the switching of the grippers (9) into the second state in such a manner that each storage compartment (28) between adjacent carriers (19) downstream of the buffer region (20) contains a product (2).

摘要: An automated accumulator incorporates independently operated infeed and outfeed ramps. These ramps on an internal end provide access to a plurality of storage flights that define a stacked conveyor, allowing both the upstream and downstream portions of the production line to operate relatively independently of the other. On the external end, the ramps couple to prior art conveyor systems. The automated accumulator incorporates an electronic control system combining a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) or equivalent and a plurality of sensors in combination with various motors to provide suitable automated operation, including First In First Out (FIFO) operation to preserve production sequence. In addition, various techniques may be used to selectively control operation of the automated accumulator, providing such functions as stopping infeed on a particular product, or providing linear bypass through the accumulator.
