    摘要: An apparatus for controlling the flow of articles includes a first article moving device and second article moving device spaced apart from the first device to define a space therebetween. A movable transport member is disposed across and movable along the space. The transport member includes a rotatable member drivingly engaged by the first and second article moving devices so as to rotate as either of the devices moves. The transport member travels along the space if a relative speed difference exists between the devices. An article transfer member is carried by the transport member and is disposed between the article moving devices to transfer articles between the devices as the rotatable member rotates.

    摘要: An accumulation system for a mass of high-friction articles, such as tires, in which a roller-top belt is used in a transfer conveyor to transfer overflow to an accumulation table. The transfer conveyor forms a segment of a conveyor line. The accumulation table is disposed next to a transfer side of the transfer conveyor to receive overflow from the transfer conveyor as upstream supply exceeds downstream demand. As downstream demand exceeds upstream supply, the accumulation table delivers accumulated articles back to the transfer conveyor. Rollers rotatable about axes in the conveying direction support articles on the transfer conveyors in low-friction rolling contact and direct overflow toward and receive accumulated articles from the accumulation table.

    摘要: A system for temporarily storing and subsequently reintroducing parts into an industrial assembly line is disclosed having a first and second side-by-side conveyor, each having a first end. A robot manipulator is positioned adjacent both the assembly line and the first ends of the conveyors and the manipulator is configured to selectively engage and release the parts. The system includes a plurality of containers wherein each container is adapted to receive a plurality of parts within the container. A first alignment rail is positioned adjacent one corner of the first conveyor while a second alignment rail is positioned a corner of the second conveyor. An actuator is associated with each alignment rail so that, upon activation of the actuator to its extended position, the actuator engages a container at the first end of its associated conveyor and moves the container against the alignment rail thus positioning the container at a predetermined position relative to the conveyor. A controller selectively controls the actuation and direction of movement of both conveyors, the actuation of the robot manipulator as well as the activation of the actuators.

    摘要: A robotic arm has a pair of gripper fingers designed to grip a variety of containers, including capped and uncapped test tubes as well as containers having unique gripping means. The fingers each have upper and lower projections separated by a groove, the respective projections facing each other when mounted to grippers on the robotic arm. The projections and groove serve to firmly hold the containers as well as self-align the unique gripping means on initially unaligned containers within the fingers as the fingers close around the containers. The fingers have clearance to avoid contact with caps on capped test tubes. Stops are provided at the top of each finger to engage one another and prevent fully closed fingers from deforming. The robotic arm may be transported along a rail mounted above the instrument and a gripper assembly, having a gripper arm, mounted to the robotic arm may be rotated above the instrument to move the container to various locations within the instrument. Side posts on the instruments have a gap between them that permits the gripper arm to rotate and extend outwards to interface with an adjacent instrument or a lab automation transport line.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a vertical conveyor (2) with double spirals (21, 31). The vertical conveyor (2) consists of a casing (20) and two shaftless spirals (21, 31). The spirals (21, 31) are driven each by a motor (24) via a gear and journal unit (25). The motors (24) are placed at the one short end of the vertical conveyor (2). The inlet (22) and outlet (23) of the conveyor (2) are disposed on opposite sides of the casing (20). The spirals (21, 31) are driven in opposite directions in such a manner that the material is “drawn” in at the inlet (22), while being “pressed” out at the outlet (23). This takes place thanks to the material being subjected to force components from the two spirals (21, 31) which act in the directions of the inlet (22) and the outlet (23), respectively. In a number of embodiments, a stationary shaft (33) is disposed within the spirals (21, 31) at least in the region of the inlet (22). Opposite the inlet (22), the casing (20) merges in wedge form (26) between the spirals (21, 31). The casing (20) is normally open between the two spirals (21, 31). The vertical conveyor (31) is often fed by a substantially horizontal conveyor (1).
