Abstract:
A deployable bulk material distribution apparatus for discharging from a designated height an amount of a flowable bulk material into a discharge location is provided. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises an auger section; a bucket elevator section configured so as to be movable between: an upright position; and a reclined position wherein the bucket elevator section is substantially reclined for transport; and a joint assembly coupling the exit aperture of the auger section to the boot inlet of the bucket elevator section so as to allow the flowable bulk material to move from the exit aperture to the boot inlet when the bucket elevator section is in the upright position, the joint assembly being rotatably coupled to the boot inlet. The auger section and container operable to freely move along the bucket elevator section when it is moved between the upright and reclined positions.
Abstract:
A distribution conveyor having a proximal and a distal ends, a first and a second sides and one or more adjustable side-discharging flow control valves between the proximal and distal ends, and a recirculation conveyor having a proximal end, proximal to the distal end of the distribution conveyor, and a distal end proximal a redeposit section of the distribution conveyor, wherein the valves can discharge a portion of a source stream of product from the distribution conveyor to a receiving structure underneath each valve, wherein the distal end of the recirculation conveyor is positioned to recirculate a tail stream from the distal end of the distribution conveyor to a redeposit section of the recirculating conveyor, and wherein the distal end of the recirculation conveyor is positioned to return the tail stream to the distribution conveyor laterally offset to a centerline of the distribution conveyor for preferential discharge in the valve(s).
Abstract:
A filter plug tray includes a housing having a loading port which cooperates with external loading and unloading stations, a feed conveyor for conveying filter plugs across the loading port, and expandable filter plug constraining means positioned in the housing to contain the filter plugs in a desired orientation and alignment. The constraining means includes a flexible band wound under tension on a reel rotatably mounted the housing. The flexible band unwinds as plugs are loaded into the tray and winds onto the reel to urge plugs to the loading port as plugs are unloaded.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a continuously operating system for removing particulate material from the bottom portion of a suitable storage silo. The system includes a feed conveyer from the silo to a vertical uplifting conveyer whereby the particulate material is raised to a level sufficiently high to efficiently feed a packing system or the like. A by-pass arrangement whereby to return the particulate material to the vertical uplifting conveyer whenever the packing system is indicated.
Abstract:
A subsurface coal bunker operating to receive and discharge coal is structured with an assemblage of nested telescopic container members including one stationary member and a plurality of movable members, with the container members being formed in size in a graduated series with each container member being sized to fit into a next larger container member adjacent thereto. The movable members are telescopically extensible and contractible in order to vary the volume of the assemblage and the bunker assembly is provided with a first belt conveyor for feeding material into the assemblage and a second belt conveyor for transporting material therefrom. A reversible drive mechanism, consisting of hydraulic cylinder devices actuating a system of drive chains and pulleys, is mounted on a support frame of the bunker and operates to drive the movable members between the extended and contracted positions.
Abstract:
A cigarette conveyor system includes a sensor mechanism comprising a sensor member above a junction zone into which cigarettes are arranged to be delivered and from which cigarettes are arranged to be withdrawn, and including a flexible elongated membrane which extends transversely to the axes of the cigarettes and confines the upper surface of the cigarettes in the junction zone and on which the sensor member rests, the ends of the membrane being anchored at two fixed anchorage points, the length of the membrane extending between the anchorage points being greater than the distance between the anchorage points.
Abstract:
A surge-storage machine having an elongated vibratory conveyor serving as a storage conveyor and discharging material for delivery to a using system, and having a second elongated vibratory conveyor for receiving incoming material at a fixed supply point and building a layer of the material from the discharge end of the storage conveyor toward its opposite end. The distributing conveyor is supported above the storage conveyor for longitudinal reciprocating movement by a cable drive mechanism in parallel with the storage conveyor, for movement of the discharge end of the distributing conveyor along the length of the storage conveyor while at least part of the distributing conveyor remains at all times beneath the supply point. A conventional sensing control system is provided for the drive mechanism.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a conveyor device that comprises a conveyor belt with a conveying strand for conveying bulk material and a return strand. The conveying strand has a conveying surface on which a material flow is running whose feed rate is given by the product of a linear velocity of the conveying strand and a conveying cross-section of the material flow. The disclosure is characterized by a variable flow limiting device that is movable between a first position and a second position. The conveying cross-section downstream of the flow limiting device is smaller in the second position than in the first position.
