Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a recording-medium storing unit including a rotating member, the recording-medium storing unit being capable of being pulled out from an apparatus body; a support surface having an edge portion, the support surface supporting the rotating member when the recording-medium storing unit is pulled out from the apparatus body; and an image forming unit that forms an image on a recording medium fed from the recording-medium storing unit. The rotating member has a counter surface that faces the edge portion when the rotating member moves beyond the edge portion and drops off the support surface in a certain direction. In the state in which the counter surface faces the edge portion, the counter surface is inclined such that a point on the counter surface approaches the edge-portion side as the point moves in a direction opposite to the certain direction.
Abstract:
A system and method for improved accessibility of media output from a media processing device. Media receivers are coupled to an actuator such that the media receivers can be moved under manual command by a user, or automatically by a controller. Movement selectors are provided for activation thereof by a user. The user selects a media receiver for movement, and then the desired direction of movement. The media receiver is moved to a position most convenient for the user so that the media in the media receiver is most accessible to that user. In an illustrative embodiment, a laser printer with a plurality of paper trays is adapted to the present invention.
Abstract:
A printing apparatus includes: a first path conveying a printing medium from a manual-feed stacking unit to a printing unit; a second path converging with the first path at a converging section and conveying a printing medium from a cassette; a first roller pair provided downstream the converging section on the first path to nip and convey a printing medium; a first detection unit detecting a printing medium stacked on the manual-feed stacking unit; a second roller pair provided downstream the first roller pair on the first path to nip and convey a printing medium; a second detection unit arranged between the first and second roller pairs to detect a printing medium; and a control unit performing control to start feeding of the printing medium to the printing unit by the first roller pair if the first detection unit detects the printing medium but the second detection unit does not.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes an ejection port, a stacker, a fan, and a duct. From the ejection port, a sheet is ejected to an ejection space in an ejection direction. The stacker stacks the sheet ejected from the ejection port, and the ejection space is disposed above the stacker. The fan is disposed outside the ejection space to suck air. The duct is connected to the fan. The duct has an exhaust port and a guide. The exhaust port is disposed above the ejection port and downstream from the ejection port in the ejection direction to exhaust the air from the exhaust port toward an upper face of the sheet in the ejection space. The guide connects the fan and the exhaust port to guide the air from the fan to the exhaust port.
Abstract:
A card media processing system for treating individual cards includes a treatment assembly including a treatment device configured for sequentially treating individual cards. A car is configured to hold an individual card and to move the card to the treatment device. An endless loop track assembly is configured to support the car. The car includes a driven roller configured to engage the endless loop track assembly to move the car therealong, and the driven roller is operatively connected with a motor for causing rotation of the driven roller.
Abstract:
A transport apparatus includes a transport roller having a first supported portion and a second supported portion at positions separated in a first direction, and configured to abut against a sheet, rotate in a second direction about a rotation axis extending in the first direction, and transport the sheet; a first support member configured to rotatably support the transport roller, the first support member having a first receiving portion which is in the form of a circular arc and configured to abut against a portion in a circumferential direction of an outer periphery of the first supported portion; and a second support member configured to rotatably support the transport roller, the second support member having a second receiving portion which is in the form of a circular arc and configured to abut against a portion in a circumferential direction of an outer periphery of the second supported portion.
Abstract:
An apparatus for feeding a plurality of stacked currency bills into a currency handling device. The apparatus may comprise an input receptacle being configured to receive a plurality of stacked currency bills, the receptacle having a first side and a second opposing side, a front end, and an opposing back end. The apparatus further may comprise a first paddle rail disposed adjacent the first side and a first paddle assembly slidably coupled to the first paddle rail, the first paddle assembly having a portion configured to contact a stack of a plurality of bills residing in the input receptacle. The apparatus further may comprise a first resilient member coupled to the first paddle assembly, the first resilient member being configured to bias the first paddle assembly towards the front end of the receptacle, the first resilient member being configured to cause the first paddle assembly to move in a direction toward the front end of the input receptacle at a first average rate of speed when unrestrained and undamped. The apparatus further may comprise a first damping mechanism configured to slow the unrestrained, average rate of speed the first paddle assembly from the first average rate of speed to a second average rate of speed which is less the first average rate of speed.

Abstract:
A gripping arrangement for a stacker device or delivery tray of a printing press. At least one upper gripper arm and at least one lower gripper arm are provided, which have a first opened position and a second closed position. Sheets are located between the upper and lower gripper arms in the closed position. A first guiding device guides the gripping arrangement substantially in the vertical direction, and a second guiding device guides the gripping arrangement substantially in the horizontal direction.
