    摘要: A safety grip system comprises first and second support structures wherein the second support structure extends transverse to the first support structure. The first support structure is provided with a first longitudinally extending safety grip at one end thereof. The first longitudinally extending safety grip on the end of the first support structure has an opening therethrough through which the second support structure extends, whereby the first longitudinally extending safety grip is non-rotatably secured to the first support structure. A second longitudinally extending safety grip is provided on the first support structure and has engagement members that inter-engage engagement members provide don the first longitudinally extending safety grip, whereby the second longitudinally extending safety grip is non-rotatably secured to the first support structure.

    摘要: A secondary handrail for mounting below a conventional handrail to enable smaller individuals, such as children to use it while ascending or descending stairs. The secondary handrail comprises a mounting bracket defined by a rigid bracket body, a rail attachment member, a plurality of fastener docks, and a spindle depression as well as a rail member, and extension sleeves. In operation, a plurality of mounting brackets are mounted sequentially under a conventional handrail by through an attachment to the wall or a spindle, with a plurality rail members extending between each mounting bracket. In this regard, the mounting bracket provides a means for mounting the secondary handrail below the conventional staircase and fastening the secondary handrail to a wall or spindle and the rail member provides a rail means for attaching to the mounting means and assisting an individual in ascending or descending the stairs.

The railing has two lateral channels extending along its length and a central member extending between the two lateral channels. At least one of the brackets has a base and two prongs extending away from the base. Each of the prongs engages one of the lateral channels. The engagement of the railing with the brackets forms a cavity that is defined, at least in part, by the central member, the base, and the prongs.

    摘要: A building is provided with a shutter, a stairway, and a handrail. The handrail has a connection member and a connection apparatus. The shutter opens and closes in a horizontal direction. A gap through which the shutter can pass is formed in the stairway. The handrail is provided at the stairway, and includes a handrail main body and a movable member. A gap through which the shutter can pass is formed in the handrail main body, and the movable member closes the gap in the handrail main body. The connection member connects one end portion of the movable member with the handrail main body such that the movable body is turnable relative to the handrail main body. The connection apparatus releasably connects another end portion of the movable member with the handle main body.

The first leg is adapted to be mounted at a wall surface and the second leg has an outer wall with a cross-section which conforms with the inner wall of the tubular handrail and is snugly surrounded thereby. The internal cavity of the second leg forms an upper compartment housing electrical wiring and connection means, and a lower compartment serving as a fitting for electrical illumination means emitting light through the slot in the bottom of the tubular handrail.
