The majority of the top surface of the support consists of one or more spill containment areas which are of a non-hydrophobic nature and which are bounded by the hydrophobic surfaces, such that spills on the shelving collect in the non-hydrophobic spill containment area or areas and are prevented from spreading by the hydrophobic surfaces.

摘要： A shelf assembly for an appliance comprises a shelf panel with a planar support surface and a frame to support the shelf panel with the support surface extending generally along a horizontal plane. The frame comprises a front support channel, opposed side support channels, and a rear support channel. The rear support channel is adapted to support the shelf panel against the force of gravity and to inhibit removal of the shelf panel from the frame in the direction of the horizontal plane. The shelf panel is selectively insertable into or removable from the rear support channel by temporarily deflecting the rear support channel relative to the horizontal plane a sufficient amount to separate the rear support channel from a rear edge of the shelf panel.

摘要： A shelf assembly includes a shelf frame adapted to support a planar shelf panel. The shelf frame comprises a front member, opposed side members, and a rear member. A support channel is integrally formed into an underside of the shelf frame. A reinforcing support frame is captured within the support channel to form a unitary shelf assembly and is adapted to support the shelf frame within said appliance. At least one stud projects outward from the reinforcing support frame with respect to the opposed side members of the shelf frame. The studs are adapted to be received within a corresponding recess of an interior wall of said appliance to thereby support the shelf assembly within said appliance.

摘要： An encapsulated refrigerator shelf is assembled by interconnecting a platform, such as a glass panel, within a peripheral frame. More specifically, a peripheral shelf frame is formed with a split side portion defining upper and lower frame portions which are spaced by an elongated slot. The encapsulated glass refrigerator shelf is made by slidably inserting the platform onto peripheral frame support structure through the slot formed between the upper and lower frame portions. The frame is also formed with retaining structure to maintain the platform in place once the platform is inserted a requisite amount within the peripheral frame.

摘要： A shelf is defined by a tempered glass panel bonded to opposing flanges of a pair of metal shelf brackets carrying hooks for connection to and adjustment along vertical trackways in refrigerator compartments. Adhesive constitutes the sole means for maintaining the shelf substantially rigidly united. Each shelf bracket includes at least one abutment surface for engaging an edge of the shelf panel or a handgrip member carried thereby to assure perfect alignment between the components during curing of the adhesive. Each shelf bracket is defined by a shelf arm and a flange with the flanges having pockets housing the adhesive. The shelf arms may additionally include uppermost projections for engaging side edges of the shelf panel and/or at least one additional flange, such that side edge portions of the shelf panel can be housed between the pair of vertically spaced longitudinally offset flanges of each shelf bracket.

摘要： A shelf assembly is provided for a refrigerator with a food compartment that includes a rear wall and a pair of opposed side walls. The shelf assembly includes a first and second shelf portion with first and second support surfaces. The second shelf portion is slidably moveable relative to the first shelf portion between an extended position and a retracted position. In the extended position, the second shelf portion is arranged such that the second support surface is substantially coplanar with the first support surface and the second support surface is located generally between a first support surface and a side wall of the food compartment. In the retracted position, the second planar support surface is arranged subjacent to the first planar support surface.
