    摘要： A drum cartridge with a protective cover for an electrophotographic apparatus is disclosed.The protective cover consisting of an upper and a lower covers separately formed from each other, and the upper cover is operable to be opened and closed by a first gear pivoting around a drum shaft of a photosensitive drum. The lower cover is operable to be opened and closed by a connecting rod coupled to a second gear in mesh with the first gear, and has a driving pin driven by external force.According to the construction, the protective cover is automatically opened and closed by mounting and separating the drum cartridge, and capable of making the exposed area of a photosensitive drum be wide in open position and perfectly protecting the photosensitive drum in closed position.

Thereby, the insertion operation of the image forming unit stops and one end of the image forming unit is held supported on the wall inside the opening.

    摘要： A process cartridge detachably mountable to a main body of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus includes a cartridge frame, an electrophotographic photosensitive member supported by the cartridge frame, a process device supported by the cartridge frame to act on the electrophotographic photosensitive member, and a shutter member for protecting a portion of the electrophotographic photosensitive member exposed from the cartridge frame. It further includes a first connection member to connect the cartridge frame and the shutter member. The first connection member is rotatable with respect to the cartridge frame and is detachably attached to the cartridge frame. Also provided is a second connection member to connect the cartridge frame and the shutter member. It is rotatable with respect to the cartridge frame and is attached to the cartridge frame while regulating an axial movement of the second connection member during rotation of the second connection member.

    摘要： A photographic recording apparatus is provided having a housing body, and a process cartridge unit including a photoconductive drum and a developing device and which is removably mounted on the housing body. The cartridge unit includes a first and a second frame which are pivotable about a rotation axis of the drum relative to each other, and a biasing member for biasing the two frames to thereby hold the frames in a first relative angular position. The housing body includes a portion for holding the cartridge unit such that the two frames are held in a second relative angular position, which is established by pivoting the two frames from the first relative angular position against a biasing action of the biasing member. The first and second frames each having holes or openings that are initially misaligned, cooperate in an overlapping fashion to provide at least one opening through which a portion of the drum is exposed outside the frames, when the frames are placed in the second relative angular position. Each opening is closed when the frames are placed in the first relative angular position.

In other words, the present invention relates to a process unit detachably mountable in an image forming apparatus, the process unit comprising an image bearing member, discharger actable on the image bearing member and a device for fixing the image bearing member, and the discharger and the fixing device being integrally supported by a supporting member. Moreover, an image forming apparatus characterized by an image bearing member, a supporting member for supporting the image bearing member so that it can be moved in the direction perpendicular to the axis thereof, a member for fixing the image bearing member to the supporting member, discharger actable on the image bearing member, and the fixing member and the discharger are integrally supported by a supporting member.
