摘要: The invention intends to provide a sensor module suitable for miniaturization and reduction in costs, in the radar sensor that uses a millimeter or sub-millimeter wave signal of which frequency is more than 20 GHz. To accomplish this problem, the radar sensor is integrated into a one chip MMIC, in which an active circuit including an oscillator and a mixer is formed with an antenna on one semiconductor substrate. Further, the MMIC is sealed with a resin package. A dielectric lens is formed on the resin package over the antenna to attain a desired beamwidth. Thereby, the lens and the resin package can integrally be formed by a metal mold, thus reducing the cost.

摘要: An antenna structure has a rotatable dipole array constituting a driven antenna element, a cup mounted around the dipole, a first conductor connected to and extending from the antenna, and a first dielectric mounted around the first conductor. A second conductor is mounted around the first dielectric, and a second dielectric is mounted around the second conductor. A third conductor is mounted around the second dielectric, and the first and second conductors form a quarter-wavelength transformer. The first dielectric maintains a uniform spacing between the first and second conductors, and the third conductor defines a radio-frequency coupling cavity. The second dielectric electrically enlarges the cavity. Thus the physical dimensions of the structure can be reduced without sacrifice of its electrical properties.

摘要: This invention relates to radio antennae, and in particular to dielectric-clad antennae of the kind comprising a length of conductor the electrical length of which is effectively increased by a cladding of dielectric material. The disclosure describes how the physical height of an antenna, typically an HF or VHF wire monopole antenna can be reduced in relation to its electrical length by means of a thin cladding of dielectric material having a relative magnetic permeability substantially greater than unity, e.g. ferrite. By selecting a material having a relative magnetic permeability substantially greater than its relative dielectric permittivity, a given reduction in antenna height can be achieved with a much thinner cladding than can be achieved using conventional materials.

摘要: The invention is a multiturn loop antenna of an efficient design suitable for use singly, in arrays, or for inductively exciting radiating currents on a structure - the surface and the elements radiating to achieve optimum system performance. The antenna may be fed balanced or unbalanced and its input impedance may be either capacitive or inductive. In a preferred embodiment for omnidirectional coverage the antenna is positioned in a dielectric or ferrite filled cavity; the antenna may be a single element for linear polarization or a pair of multiturn loops at right angles to each other and with 90* phasing to effect circular polarization.
