Abstract:
Various skylight connectors are disclosed. A sheet is integrally formed with tabs along opposed axial edges of the sheet, and the sheet can be bent into a tubular configuration with the tabs along one edge engaging tab holes along the other edge and vice-versa to hold the sheet in the tubular configuration. Also, a skylight dome fastener adaptor includes a hollow body, and ribs are formed on the outer surface to engage a hole in a skylight dome to impede rotation of the body in the hole when a fastener is disposed in the adaptor and threadably engaged with a dome flashing. Additionally, various quick connect zip ties and clips are disclosed for quickly and easily engaging components of a skylight assembly.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a magnetic button that is waterproof and washable and to the method for manufacturing the same. The magnetic button (1) according to the present invention comprises a button body (2), a magnet (7) and a steel plate (8) placed in the cavity (9) of said button body. The manufacturing method of the present invention comprises. Step A: manufacturing a button body (2) with non-magnetic material; step B: putting the magnet (7) and steel plate (8) into the cavity (9) of the button body; step C: the magnet and the steel plate are combined integrally and scaled in the button body (2) with a piece of sealing material (11) through the hot pressing process. The magnetic button of the present invention is waterproof and washable. When used on clothes, the buttons can be automatically aligned and match with each other. The button is best suited in the case where buttons are not easily unbuttoned with hands, for example, when hands are in gloves. It is particularly suited to children.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an apparatus which facilitates attachment of objects to fabrics of various thicknesses while minimizing damage to the underlying fabric. A device is provided which includes a backing member formed from a flexible, resilient material which is shaped to surround and engage a majority of the periphery of an object to be attached to fabric. The backing member has an inner peripheral wall and an outer peripheral wall opposite the inner peripheral wall. At least one continuous discontinuity passes through both the inner and the outer peripheral walls allowing the backing member to expand in order to receive objects of various size. Another aspect of the present invention provides a tensioning device which serves to bias the backing member into contact with the fabric and the object.
Abstract:
Locking device that is mounted on an endoscope or the like for selectively securing the position of a guide wire and/or catheter relative to the endoscope or the like. The locking device preferably includes a side wall with an opening therein for receiving the proximal end of a guide wire or catheter. The opening is preferably J-shaped or boot shaped, and has an entry end and a locking end. Once a guide wire or catheter is in a desired position within a body cavity, the portion of the guide wire or catheter that extends outside of the endoscope or the like may be moved into the opening. More particularly, a portion of the guide wire or catheter may be inserted by an operator through the entry end of the opening and into the locking end, wherein the locking end frictionally secures the position of the guide wire or catheter relative to the endoscope or the like.
Abstract:
A slider-operated fastener comprises first and second opposing tracks including respective first and second interlocking profiles and respective first and second fins extending downward from the respective first and second profiles. The first and second fins are sealed to each other by a plurality of spaced preseals. After generating each preseal, a notch is formed in the profiles and upper portions of the fins at the generated preseal. To install a slider onto the fastener, the slider is initially positioned within the respective notch and then threaded onto the fastener in response to relative movement of the slider and the fastener. Either before or after the steps of forming each preseal and respective notch and installing the respective slider, the fastener is attached to a moving web of plastic film. The fastener-carrying web is later folded and sealed to form individual plastic bags. The preseals are advantageous in that they allow the fastener to be controlled during such downstream operations as notch formation and slider installation and when the fastener is tensioned by various rollers in the bag making machine. The preseals keep the interlocked profiles together and prevent them from moving longitudinally relative to each other. In addition, the preseals generally encompass the respective notches to assist in providing a leakproof barrier to entry into an interior of the fastener between the fins via the notches. This leakproof barrier is effective in the ultimately formed plastic bags.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a cuff link for attaching to a shirtsleeve. The cuff link includes a holder and at least one insert member. The insert member is relesably retained in the holder by a pivotal latch member of the holder. The insert member can include an insert of various materials such as gems or precious metals.
Abstract:
A zipper pull tab includes a main body and a fastening member of a pliable and tough material. The main body is provided at one end with a retaining projection and a fixation hole. The fastening member is fastened to the main body and is provided at the free end with a retaining slot. The fastening member is used to fasten a zipper slide such that the free end of the fastening member is put through the zipper slide, and such that the fastening member is bent toward the main body to enable the retaining slot of the fastening member to retain therein the retaining projection of the main body, thereby resulting in formation of a loop by the fastening member.
Abstract:
An elastic belt buckle, especially suitable for costumes and pants, having a prong which can slide on the buckle base by means of an elastic device. The buckle uses a structure that fastens the belt at a flexible position properly by inserting the prong into a punch hole to make one's waist more comfortable or even to prevent it being hurt when one bends forward, crouches, or dances.
Abstract:
A cuff link includes a magnetic arrangement for ready substitution of alternative decorative elements. One or more links of the cuff link comprises a frame member that is magnetically engageable to a removable element having a decorative exterior surface. The frame and the removable element include mating semi-cylindrical internal surfaces that receive disk-shaped pluralities of magnets. The disk-shaped magnets are arranged so that, when the frame is engaged to the replaceable element, they are aligned along a common axis whereby lines of magnetic flux are axially-directed therethrough to provide a strong bond. An edge of the removable element is bevelled to assist the wearer in ready substitution of replaceable elements.
Abstract:
A composite touch fastener has an elongated, sheet-form resin substrate, a fibrous loop strip partially encapsulated in, or otherwise permanently attached to, resin of the substrate, and an array of loop-engageable fastener elements integrally molded with resin of the substrate. The loop strip forms a discrete band of hook-engageable, free-standing loops along the length of the substrate, and has a substantially constant fiber density across its width. The array of fastener elements is arranged in a discrete band of fastener elements extending longitudinally along the substrate. The fastener product is useful as a repeated use bag closure, with a pair of grooves and a graspable rib integrally molded into the substrate between the fastener elements and loops. The center portion of the closure seals the bag until it is torn away to expose the mating bands of loops and fastener elements. Methods and apparatus are disclosed for continuously molding the resin of the substrate while permanently attaching preformed material, such as loop material staked in discrete regions, to resin of the substrate.
