    摘要: A catheter assembly includes a catheter, a catheter hub fixed to the proximal end portion of the catheter, a hollow inner needle removably located in the catheter and including a distal end portion at which is located a needlepoint to puncture skin of a patient, and a guide wire slidably positioned in the inner needle. The guide wire is longer than both the inner needle and the catheter. A wire operating member is connected to the guide wire and is displaceable in the forward direction relative to the inner needle and the catheter. A main body is detachably connected to the catheter hub and includes a finger-engaging projection at a distal portion of the main body that is engageable by a user's finger to advance the main body and the catheter in the forward direction. The wire operating member is superimposed on the main body.

    摘要: A smart obturator assembly includes a hub forming a central passage. The hub is configured to couple to a proximal end of a device that forms a lumen such that the central passage is in fluid communication with the lumen. A collar on the hub includes electronic circuitry in signal communication with remote reception circuitry. An obturator is movably positionable within the lumen. The obturator is movable within the lumen between a first position and a second position. The obturator includes a distal end and a sensor at the distal end. The sensor is configured to sense an environmental characteristic within a patient's blood stream, generate a signal representative of the environmental characteristic, and transmit the signal to the electronic circuitry. The electronic circuitry is configured to receive the signal and transmit the signal to the remote reception circuitry.

    摘要: The invention relates to an intravenous catheter apparatus comprising: a catheter hub (12) arranged at a proximal end of a catheter tube (10), the catheter hub (12) having an inner surface (14) defining a chamber (16); a needle (20) defining an axial direction and having a needle tip (24), the needle (20) extending through the chamber (16) and the catheter tube (10) when in a ready position; a needle guard (32) slidably arranged on the needle (20) and at least partially received in the chamber (16) when the needle (20) is in the ready position, the needle guard (32) including a base portion (34) and first and second arms (36, 38) extending from the base portion (34), wherein the first arm (36) is deflected radially outwards by the needle (20) against a restoring force when the needle (20) is in the ready position whereby the needle guard (32) is brought into retaining contact with the catheter hub (12); and wherein the catheter apparatus includes a valve which separates a distal space arranged in distal direction from the valve from a proximal space arranged on proximal direction from the valve. The invention further provides that the valve opens based on a pressure differential between the pressure prevailing in the distal space and the pressure prevailing in the proximal space.

The catheter operating member is configured to press a portion of the catheter between the proximal end of the catheter and the distal end of the catheter when the user presses on the catheter operating member while puncturing a living body with the needlepoint.
