Abstract: A removable belt buckle system has a belt band, with interior and exterior surfaces, as well as a first end and second end. The first end has a hook-and-loop component on the interior surface and the second end has a corresponding hook-and-loop component on the exterior surface allowing for each end to releasably engage one-another. A clip releasably engages the belt band. The clip is defined by a first member connected to a second member by a spring portion. The spring portion biases the second member toward the first member until a contact point is reached. A lip portion extends at an obtuse angle from an opposite end of the second member relative to the spring portion. The clips first member releasably engages a buckle at the back side of the buckle.

Abstract: Various embodiments of a fastening system that either attaches to existing buttons or attaches directly to an article of clothing. In preferred embodiments, the fastening system has a first portion that attaches to a button hole or a first part of the article and a second portion that attaches to a button or second part of the article. The first portion and second portion detachably attach to each other by means of a twist-lock, magnetic mechanism, or some other attachment mechanism. Alternatively, the fastening system can be built directly into an article without augmenting an existing button and button-hole fastener.

Abstract: Extension links function like a rein that connects an undone button to a buttonhole. Extension links allow garments and items with buttons to be worn and used with the buttons unbuttoned, creating a looser fit and more room than would be the case if the button was fastened through the buttonhole in the traditional manner. This is accomplished by receiving and holding the button to one end of the link, then tethering it to a buttonhole over a span that is the length of the extension link. The extension link, in a simple embodiment, is a fixed length of any suitable material that is able to hold a button from either end, as in having elastic or fixed loop ends. An end loop of the extension link is slipped over a button, the link is passed through a buttonhole or holes, then doubled back and connected to the same or different button using its other identical looped end, with variations on this configuration. This effectively but loosely captures the buttonhole(s) to the button(s), maintaining alignment and proximity, expanding the fit, and in some cases allowing material to be folded back on itself for interesting variations in function, style and color.

Abstract: A releasable fastener system includes a first base material and a second base material being fastened together when the fastener system is in a fastened state and released from one another when the fastener system is in a released state. The fastener system further includes a stiffening member fastened to the second base material. A bottom loop is spaced from the first base material such that at least a portion of the stiffening member resides between the bottom loop and the first base material when the fastener system is in the fastened state. A top loop being spaced from the bottom loop such that a portion of the second base material resides between the top and bottom loops when the system is in the fastened state, wherein at least one of the top and bottom loops is fastened to the first base material.

Abstract: A medical compression garment is provided including a midline opening cut in a medial segment of the elastic garment, dividing its front fabric portion into first and second sections. Fasteners, such as hook-and-loop fasteners, are attached to the first and second sections which connect together to close the opening. Pulls may be included. To don the garment, a wearer places their legs into the garment and pulls the garment along the legs until its top is aligned with the groin. The wearer then inverts and pulls the first and second sections of the garment together and fastens them to close the opening. Afterwards, the wearer pulls up the garment until it reaches the waist. When the wearer subsequently wants to take off the garment, the wearer unfastens the first and second sections and pull the garment down from the waist. The garment thus facilitates the donning and removal process.

Abstract: A lacing system having multiple anchor types, i.e., interior anchors, end anchors, and dynamically adjustable anchors, that, in combination with parallel lacing technology, provide instant and reliable fastening for shoes, boots, and other articles of manufacture. The lace is threaded and anchored so that, a single arcuate pull on the movable fastener(s) causes the multiple lace segments to move through the eyelets of the shoe, and align in unison, so that the entire shoe opening contracts (or opens wide) simultaneously. The fastener(s) can be hook and loop, ratchet buckles, adjustable buckles, or cord locks. The laces are replaceable. The adjustable opening is customizable for different width feet providing “gross” adjustment. The fastener provides “fine” adjustment. Methods and diagrams are disclosed for threading, anchoring, and customizing the lacing, as well as for indicating that the lacing is correct.
