摘要:
A drying system is disclosed for drying wet gases, typically produced by a gas generator to dew points less than 32.degree. F. The system uses a refrigeration cycle having a single compressor to dry the wet gas in a first evaporator while simultaneously defrosting the ice buildup on a second evaporator. The cycle then switches from the first evaporator to the second evaporator after the second evaporator is defrosted. The switching is preceded by a changeover phase in which cooled refrigerant is pulsed to the defrosted evaporator and both evaporators go on line for a short time before the system phase change occurs thus assuring control of the dried gas temperature while avoiding shock to the refrigeration system.

An apparatus is provided for regulating the percentage quantities of individual gases present in the combustion air supplied for reaction processes in metallurgy. A molecular sieve absorption material is used on the intake air to absorb the inert constituents to thereby enhance the quantity of oxygen present. The apparatus utilizes several molecular sieve materials in a continuous manner such that one of the devices containing the molecular sieve material is being purged for regeneration while another device is absorbing the inert constituents, while yet another device is cooling, i.e., getting ready for the absorption operation. The countercurrent flow of heated intake air, which air is derived from the metallurgical reaction process, is used in the apparatus for regenerating the molecular sieve material.

The present invention relates to appartus for generating a heated oxygen enriched gas stream for use as combustion and reducing gas in a blast furnace wherein a stream of fuel gas is intimately mixed with a stream of combustion air, the resultant fuel gas-combustion air mixture is combusted so that a stream of hot combustion gases is produced under super atmospheric pressure and excess oxygen is combined with the hot combustion gases.
