The operation of the engine within such a narrow range not only reduces fuel consumption but also polluting emissions.

摘要： A transmission system comprising two axially spaced torus discs or rotors, one serving as an input and the other as an output, and between which there is a set of circumferentially spaced drive rollers in frictional rolling contact with part toroidal surfaces on the discs, each roller being rotatably mounted in a bearing structure which can tilt about an axis at right angles to the axis of rotation of each roller so as to vary the distances from the gear axis at which the roller engages the two discs respectively, thus varying the drive ratio of the gear and means for moving each of the roller bearing structures generally tangentially with respect to the axis and arranged to apply a force to said structure in a direction to vary the castor angle, there being means for accommodating effective movement of the roller bearing axes relatively to the gear axis in a direction parallel to the gear axis.

摘要： This invention has for purpose to improve the conditions of the tightening of the friction elements in a speed variator intended in particular to be employed in an automobile vehicle.It resides mainly in the use of a piston and cylinder assembly as means for pre-tightening the friction elements, this assembly defining a pressure chamber which is connected to the lubrication oil supply pump and to a relatively small-section discharge path. This arrangement permits modulating the pressure of the pre-tightening over a wide range in principle as a function of the temperature of the oil. Preferably, there is also provided a further correction as a function of the speed ratio established in the variator.

These compositions are liquids which have good viscosity properties over a wide temperature range, have excellent oxidative stability, and are particularly useful as tractive fluids in applications requiring low temperature operability.

摘要： A speed control mechanism provides a driving connection between a turntable and drive shaft of a record player. An idler wheel mounted on the mechanism engages different driving radii on the driving shaft to vary the rotational speed transmitted to the turntable by the idler wheel. The speed control mechanism resembles a crank and connecting arm with the idler wheel carried on the free end of the connecting arm. Upon rotation, the crank coacts with a camming means so that the crank, connecting arm and idler wheel are translated along the crank''s axis of rotation. The cranking effect and axial translation thereby serve to selectively position the idler wheel.
