    摘要: A haptic shift device for use in shift-by-wire systems in vehicles. The haptic shift device includes a shift lever manipulatable by a user. At least one sensor detects a position of the shift lever, and a transmission gear of the vehicle is caused to be changed based on the position of the shift lever. At least one electrically-controlled actuator outputs a force on the shift lever. In some embodiments, the shift lever is moveable within a pattern and is blocked from areas outside the boundaries of the pattern. The actuator(s) can be active or passive, and/or a variable mechanical gate can be used to implement the pattern. Provided shifting modes can include automatic, manual, and/or sequential modes. Other shifting modes can also be provided.

    摘要: A speed ratio controller for a continuously variable transmission comprises a sensor (66) for detecting the activation of a catalyst purifying the exhaust gas of the engine, a sensor (62) for detecting an engine load, a sensor (63) for detecting a vehicle speed and a microprocessor (61) for controlling the transmission. The microprocessor (61) stores a first speed change map defining a speed ratio of the transmission according to the vehicle speed and engine load, and a second speed change map defining a larger speed ratio than the speed ratio defined in the first speed change map in a range where the vehicle speed is lower than a predetermined vehicle speed and the engine load is lower than a predetermined engine load. In order to determine the speed ratio of the transmission, the microprocessor (61) applies the first speed change map until the catalyst is activated and the second speed change map after the catalyst is activated.

    摘要: A differential mechanism can be driven by either or both of two inputs to provide an output rotational speed that is variable and can exceed, be equal to, can be less than, and can even be opposite to the input rotational speed. The differential uses a self-centering spherical element made of a structural thermoplastic material and which engages a pair of friction rings, one connected with an input assembly and one connected with an output assembly. A loading arrangement resiliently biases the spherical element into frictional engagement with the friction rings in a manner which is independent of the orientation of the spherical element with respect to the friction rings. Control of the rotational position of the spherical element is effected by an axially actuatable rod or a centrally disposed linkage so that the output rotational speed can be controlled. Powered control of the position of the spherical element can be provided.

    摘要: An infinitely variable toric transmission has a housing, input and output shafts rotatably and coaxially supported in the housing, toric input and output disks fitted on and engaged with the input and output shafts, respectively, for rotation together, the opposed surfaces of the disks cooperating with each other to form a toric cavity, two right and left traction rollers disposed in the toric cavity symmetrically with respect to the axis of the input and output shafts, trunnion devices rotatably supporting the traction rollers and supported in the housing through upper and lower support link members for rightward and leftward pivotal movement about a pivot axis perpendicular to the rotational axes of the traction rollers, and pressing means for abutting the input and output disks and the traction rollers into engagement with each other and generating a traction force. One of the upper and lower support link members is supported in the housing by a sliding post for slight rightward and leftward movement and the other of the upper and lower support link members has its central portion tiltably supported in the housing by a spherical post. The transmission is characterized in that hydraulic cylinder devices are provided which extend on the upper and lower pivot shaft ends, respectively, of the right and left trunnion devices, the right and left cylinder diameter of the cylinder devices which is adjacent to the spherical post is larger than the right and left cylinder diameter of the cylinder devices which is adjacent to the sliding post, and the cylinder devices on each diagonal are conjunctioned with each other by pipings.

    摘要: A constant output speed control arrangement for an infinitely variable transmission whose ratio of transmission is controllable by a hydraulic control fluid wherein the transmission output shaft has a fluid displacement pump associated therewith and connected to a control valve structure including a piston disposed in a cylinder and being movable by the control fluid from the pump against the force of a spring with a control passage extending through the piston and a control opening in the cylinder providing communication with a hydraulic ratio control structure in the transmission, the control opening being so arranged relative to the piston that the control opening is closed by the piston when the piston is moved against the spring force by an excess amount of control fluid supplied by the pump so as to cause a transmission ratio change for a decrease of the transmission output shaft, and the control opening is opened by the piston when the piston is returned by the spring for admitting an increased amount of control fluid to the transmission thereby causing an increase in the transmission output shaft speed.
