摘要： A gun magazine including a magazine body for holding a series of rounds of ammunition, and a floor plate at the lower end of the magazine body detachable therefrom by generally horizontal sliding movement relative to the body, with the floor plate preferably containing a recess extending downwardly into the floor plate beneath the lower extremity of the magazine body and into which the main ammunition follower spring projects downwardly. The floor plate may be connected to the magazine body loosely, in a manner enabling slight upward and downward shifting movement of the plate relative to body, and be provided with locking means for blocking lateral separation of the floor plate from the magazine body but adapted to be released to permit such separation by a slight shifting movement of the floor plate against the tendency of the main follower spring. The follower itself which is urged upwardly by that spring, to advance the ammunition upwardly, is releasably retained in a lower position by a spring pressed latching element to facilitate loading of rounds into the magazine.

摘要： A loadable ammunition magazine for use with a sporting firearm includes a housing defining a cartridge-loading compartment and a follower compartment, a cover that alternately covers and reveals the cartridge-loading compartment, and a follower that urges cartridges in the cartridge-loading compartment towards a mouth of the magazine. A locking assembly prevents the magazine from being detached from the lower receiver of the firearm without disassembly of the firearm action designed for use with AK-47-style rifles having stamped receivers, the locking assembly comprises a locking bar including a horizontal lower flange that is secured by a threaded fastener to the top wall of the magazine housing and a horizontal upper flange that rests on the cross rivet of the receiver. In another embodiment, designed for use with AK-47-style rifles having machined receivers, the locking assembly comprises a locking bar including a horizontal upper flange that is secured by a threaded fastener to the top wall of the magazine housing and a horizontal lower flange that rests on the bottom wall of the receiver.

摘要： Examples of a self-releasing magazine and a magazine follower assembly thereof for firearms are described. The magazine follower assembly includes a casing and a self-releasing actuator received in the casing. When in use, the magazine follower assembly generally moves along a first axis with respect to the casing between a first position in the magazine when the magazine is fully loaded and a second position in the magazine when the magazine contains no ammunition cartridge. When the magazine follower assembly is at the second position in the magazine, the self-releasing actuator is configured to actuate a magazine release mechanism of the firearm to disengage the magazine from the firearm so that the magazine is detachable from the firearm.
