    摘要: A method for calibrating and linearizing the output of an instrument that includes a transducer having an output that is a nonlinear function of a property of interest of a fluid. The results of measurements performed on a plurality of transducers of the type to be used in the instrument are used to produce first and second equations which give the direct and inverse responses of a typical transducer. The results of further measurements on the particular transducer to be used in the instrument are used with the first equation to define how the second equation may be used to give accurate results with the particular transducer. The instrument is then calibrated and the results used with the second equation to produce an accurate linearized value for display as the output of the instrument.

    摘要: The chopped infrared radiation leaving a measuring and sample gas chamber in an infrared gas analyzer is passed through and into two serially arranged detection chambers which are connected to a differential pressure chamber with capacitive pickup. The chambers are filled with gas of the type whose concentration, in the sample gas, is to be detected. One of the detector chambers contains a thin black wire, a diaphragm on the outside may shield an adjustable portion of that wire from radiation. The wire absorbs all radiation it intercepts and heats the environment.

    摘要: The cross-sensitivity of a two-beam infrared gas analyzer is reduced by using two differently long cells for the sample gas in the two beam paths. The path with the short sample gas cell is intercepted by a detector cell having highly absorbing wall while the detector cell in the other path is highly reflective, e.g., made of gold. The two detector cells are interconnected by a differential pressure chamber with capacitive pickup.

    摘要: A body has two bores defining two cuvette chambers, one for holding a comparison gas and the other for holding a gas to be analyzed by comparison with the first. An infrared (IR) source at one end of the body provides in-phase radiation into the two cuvettes. At the other end is a window, a selective filter, a reception chamber for each cuvette, and an absorption chamber. The reception chambers are coupled to a device for producing a signal representing the difference in radiation reaching the reception chambers. The reception and absorption chambers are separated by a low reflectance window and the absorption chamber contains an IR absorbing body of glass, polymethacrylate or the like with concentric grooves.

    摘要: Phase and amplitude balance adjustment are provided for a gas analyzer of the type in which two infrared beams are generated, one passed through a cell containing a standard and the other through a cell containing a sample gas, constituents in which are to be detected and measured; and there is a detector which compares the energy absorption in the two cells to provide a measure of the gas content. In this type of gas detector there is a chopper consisting of a rotating shutter with two sectors which rotate in front of two apertures through which infrared beams are transmitted from two different infrared beam generators. Phase adjustment is accomplished mechanically by physically moving a mounting plate carrying the two infrared beam generators with respect to the position of the apertures. Amplitude balance adjustment is accomplished by adjusting the relative electrical energy supplied to the two infrared beam generators.
