    摘要: The chopped infrared radiation leaving a measuring and sample gas chamber in an infrared gas analyzer is passed through and into two serially arranged detection chambers which are connected to a differential pressure chamber with capacitive pickup. The chambers are filled with gas of the type whose concentration, in the sample gas, is to be detected. One of the detector chambers contains a thin black wire, a diaphragm on the outside may shield an adjustable portion of that wire from radiation. The wire absorbs all radiation it intercepts and heats the environment.

    摘要: A two-beam, infrared gas analyzer includes a front and a rear detection cell in each path filled with gas of the type to be detected; and a pressure-differential chamber with capacitor pick-up is connected to these front and rear cells. The rear cells are constructed to ensure substantially complete absorption of all radiation of the absorption band being characteristic of the component to be detected. In one example, filters are interposed between front and rear cells for broadband, i.e., nonselective attenuation. Alternatively, the rear cells are connected to a reservoir of the same gas to attenuate pressure variations. Either case enhances frequency selectivity by reducing cross sensitivity.

    摘要: Compensation and calibration method for a nondispersive infrared gas analyzer which includes an infrared source of radiation, a measuring path, a reference path, modulation devices, a detector for differential pressure measuring, comprises the following steps: first and prior to measurement, the reference gas having a variable basic concentration in the measuring component is forced through the reference branch and through the measuring branch and the detector is set to a zero position; next a dual calibration chamber is placed into the two reference paths while both of them are still passed through by the reference gas, one of the calibration chambers including a particular concentration in the measuring gas the other one lacking that measuring gas; now the sensitivity and amplification of the detector that obtains as a result of changes in the radiation on account of placing the calibration chamber into the reference and measuring path is adjusted, whereupon the calibration chamber is removed, reference gas still is passed through the reference chamber, while measuring gas now flows through the measuring chamber.

    摘要: Interferometric equipment for detecting a substance having a structure preferably a periodic or quasiperiodic absorption spectrum; the equipment includes a source of radiation, a path for that radiation that includes a sample cell with the substance to be detected, an interference filter and a detector, and is improved in that the interference filter is constructed as an electrically tunable filter, including a plate or cell element with semitransparent reflective boundaries serving as electrodes; an electrical voltage is applied to said electrodes such that the transmission characteristics of the filter is varied and the amplitude of the voltage as applied to these electrodes is an indication of that variation; and the thickness of the plate or cell is selected to meet one of the following criteria (i) a distance between the interference lines produced equals a distance of absorption lines within a periodic absorption spectrum of said substance; (ii) the equipment causes a line to be separated from the radiation having a bandwidth which is small as compared with a spacing between two absorption lines of the substance to be found (iii) the equipment causes a line to be separated from the radiation, to overlap an edge of an absorption band of the substance to be directed.
