摘要: A composition that can solvate biofilms and disrupt bacterial cell walls acts to both kill the bacteria by cell lysis and remove the biofilm. This solvent-containing composition is effective against a broad spectrum of microbes and can be used on a variety of surfaces, both living and inanimate. The polarity of the solvent component of the composition is lower than that of pure water so that the composition exhibits increased efficacy in solvating the macromolecular matrix of a biofilm and in penetrating bacterial cell walls.

A related method is disclosed.

摘要: Herbicidal formulation in the form of microemulsion, which has a greater agronomic efficiency, allows a lower use of active substance with a lower environmental impact, the active substance being in its acid form and not being it necessary to chemically modify it for being solubilized in the water of the application broth, having synergies of effectiveness in tank mixtures with other active ingredients. The active substance comprises Glyphosate, Imazapir, Imazapic, Picloram, and mixtures of active substances consisting of Glyphosate and 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid, Glyphosate and Dicamba, and Picloram and 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic Acid, said active ingredients being dissolved in an adjuvant having a characteristic design generated by a particular combination of surfactants and solvents. Tank mixtures of products formulated with the design adjuvant for the active ingredients Imazapir and Imazapic on the one hand, and Picloram and 2,4-D on the other hand, are also included within the scope of the invention.

摘要: An antimicrobial composition comprising (i) an effective amount of a first antimicrobial agent consisting of at least one compound according to Formula 1: wherein R1 is a branched or unbranched, saturated or unsaturated, unsubstituted C3 to C5 alkyl chain or a C3 alkyl chain substituted with a methoxy group; (ii) an effective amount of at least one second antimicrobial agent selected from the group consisting of formic acid, benzoic acid, salicylic acid, 2-furoic acid, mandelic acid, acetic acid, dimethylol propionic acid, gallic acid, malic acid, lactic acid, and salts thereof; and (iii) a diluent, q.s. to 100; wherein the antimicrobial composition is substantially free of peroxygen compounds, antibiotics, and chloroacetamide. Also described are methods of using the compound of Formula 1 and compositions containing same in the field of infection control and prevention.

摘要: The invention is a herbicidal composition containing an alkanolamine salt of an dicamba capable of remaining as a single phase liquid over a period of at least 1 week and containing low amounts of water and high loadings of the salt. Such herbicidal compositions are capable of remaining liquid in the absence of high amounts of water, thereby enhancing their capacity to remain liquid over an extended period of time when exposed to environmental conditions to improve their effectiveness to transport the active salt through a leafy substrate and can reduce transportation costs by increasing the salt loading without compromising the stability of the composition.
