摘要： Grease compositions are provided that can have one or more unexpectedly beneficial low temperature properties even though the grease compositions are formed from lower value components that traditional low temperature greases. The unexpectedly beneficial low temperature properties can be achieved in part by grease compositions that include a naphthenic base stock having a viscosity index of roughly 120 or less and/or a pour point of −20° C. or more while having a naphthenes content of 60 wt % or more. In some aspects, the naphthenic base stock can have an aromatics content of 20 wt % or less.

摘要： A sulfonate-based grease composition and method of manufacture comprising the addition of one or more glycerol derivatives. The glycerol derivative acts to optimally disperse the thickener in the grease such that the conventional step of milling the grease may not be needed. The glycerol derivative reacts with water to form in-situ complexing acids, which may replace at least some of the normally used complexing acids for reacting with calcium containing bases. The greases according to preferred embodiments have a high dropping point, improved thickener yield, and faster conversion time.

The seal lip portion includes a lip tip portion which is an annular projecting body projecting toward the axis and grease is applied to the seal lip portion. The grease contains at least one of a synthetic hydrocarbon oil and a mineral oil as a base oil and has a low temperature starting torque of 25 N·cm or less at −30° C.

The composition is 50 to 90 wt % base fluid, 3 to 15 wt % sulfonate-based corrosion inhibitor, 1 to 20 wt % ester component, 0.5 to 3 wt % phosphorus source component or 1 to 10 wt % sulfur source component as high-pressure/anti-wear additive, 1 to 15 wt % emulsifier, 0.05 to 1 wt % carboxylic acid component, 0.05 to 1 wt % aminic and/or phenolic antioxidant, 0.5 to 5 wt % wax and/or thickener component, based in each case on the total weight of the composition. Further disclosed is a dry lubricant composition which can be washed off cold.
