摘要: Compositions for treating a substrate to provide increased lubricity to portions of the substrate surface that come into contact with the surface of a mating component are provided. The treated substrates provide improved lubricity, while maintaining adhesion between the surface of the substrate and an overlying polymer coating and imparting corrosion resistance to the substrate surface. The compositions include a silanol coupling agent in combination with lubricating particles, and an acid, which are dissolved or dispersed in a mixture of organic solvent and water.

摘要: Problems addressed by the present invention are to provide a lubricant composition that is capable of being used as an alternative to chemical conversion treatment by means of phosphate, to provide a lubricant composition having practical stable lubricative performance without the need for additional unwanted operations, and to provide a method for using this to form a lubrication coating, and a metal workpiece at which a lubrication coating is formed on a surface thereof. Provided as a means for solving such problems is a lubricant composition for causing formation of a hemimorphite-containing lubrication coating that contains a silicate compound (e.g., colloidal silica) and water-soluble zinc in solution.

摘要: A coffee lubricant having nanoparticles is provided. It consists of 36 to 40 wt % of glycerin, 1 to 7 wt % of gum arabic, 0.3 to 1.3 wt % of nanoparticles, and remaining part of coffee biofuel. In which, the nanoparticles are CuO. The coffee biofuel is extracted from coffee dregs and has a viscosity of 60 to 70 cSt at a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. It can reduce the friction coefficient and operating temperature. In addition, it can replace the mineral oil.

摘要: A resin composition for use in a sliding member, which has higher seizing resistance while maintaining abrasion resistance. The sliding resin composition includes: a resin binder; a solid lubricant; and a protecting and reinforcing agent that is harder and brittler than the resin binder. As the protecting and reinforcing agent, aggregates of particles harder than the resin binder are used. The amount of the protecting and reinforcing agent contained is 1 vol. % or more but 20 vol. % or less of the entire sliding resin composition. The particles harder than the resin binder have an average particle diameter of 10 nm or more but 100 nm or less that is smaller than that of the solid lubricant.

摘要: A process for making solid lubricants or lubricant additives or lubricant modifiers may include synthesizing two-dimensional (2D) nanoplatelets, nanorods, or nanowires of MoO3 and WO3. The process may also include creating hollow hexagonal ZnO nanotubes by refluxing a mixture of zinc nitrate and urea at a predefined temperature or a range of temperatures for a predefined period or periods of time. The process may further include growing the hollow hexagonal ZnO nanotubes around platelets, nanorods, or nanowires of the MoO3 or WO3. The process may also include creating a solid lubricant in a core-shell configuration from the hollow hexagonal ZnS nanotubes with an embedded hexagonal core of MoS2 or WS2.

摘要: A process for making cerium dioxide nanoparticles containing at least one transition metal (M) utilizes a suspension of cerium hydroxide nanoparticles prepared by mechanical shearing of an aqueous mixture containing an oxidant in an amount effective to enable oxidation of cerous ion to ceric ion, thereby forming a product stream that contains transition metal-containing cerium dioxide nanoparticles, Ce1-xMxO2, wherein “x” has a value from about 0.3 to about 0.8. The nanoparticles thus obtained have a cubic fluorite structure, a mean hydrodynamic diameter in the range of about 1 nm to about 10 nm, and a geometric diameter of less than about 4 nm. The transition metal-containing crystalline cerium dioxide nanoparticles can be used to prepare a dispersion of the particles in a nonpolar medium.

摘要: A mechanical part provided with an amorphous carbon coating (with at least 70 wt. % of carbon not including hydrogen) and used to cooperate slidingly with an antagonistic part having a surface hardness which is a maximum of two thirds of that of the coating. The mechanical part is such that the coating has a roughness Ra which, measured by profilometry, is equal to a maximum of 0.050 microns and, measured by atomic force microscopy, a micro-roughness which is equal to a minimum of 0.004 microns and a maximum of 0.009 microns. This minimizes the wear of the less hard antagonistic part and that of the coating.

摘要: A coating composition for a lubricating coating film includes: (A) a phenolic resin; (B) an epoxy resin having an epoxy equivalent weight of 600 to 4000; and (C) at least one type of solid lubricant. The epoxy equivalent weight is generally defined by the number average molecular weight per the number of epoxy groups in a single molecule. The coating composition has a weight ratio of component (A) to the total weight of component (A) and component (B) of at least 50 weight %. A lubricating coating film, formed from the coating composition, has a high level of flexibility on surfaces of various base materials.
