    摘要: The present invention relates to methods and systems for minimizing alien crosstalk between connectors. Specifically, the methods and systems relate to isolation and compensation techniques for minimizing alien crosstalk between connectors for use with high-speed data cabling. A frame can be configured to receive a number of connectors. Shield structures may be positioned to isolate at least a subset of the connectors from one another. The connectors can be positioned to move at least a subset of the connectors away from alignment with a common plane. A signal compensator may be configured to adjust a data signal to compensate for alien crosstalk. The connectors are configured to efficiently and accurately propagate high-speed data signals by, among other functions, minimizing alien crosstalk.

    摘要: In a voice switch, a received voice signal and a transmitted voice signal are inputted to a receiving side control section, the receiving side control section thereby produces a signal for controlling an amount of attenuation in a receiving side attenuation section. As a result, the receiving side attenuation section attenuates the received voice signal by a predetermined amount to produce a speaker output voice signal for driving a speaker. A speaker output voice signal and a microphone input voice signal are inputted to a transmitting side control section, the transmitting side control section thereby produces a signal for controlling an amount of attenuation in a transmitting side attenuation section. Consequently, the transmitting side attenuation section attenuates the speaker output voice signal by a predetermined amount to produce the transmitted voice signal.

    摘要: Cascade low-pass filters are useful in attenuating the xDSL band in a POTS splitter. The design of the low-pass filter is a sixth-order filter having two stages. A first stage includes a fourth-order filter, preferably with a stop-band frequency of approximately 48 kHz. A second stage includes a second-order filter in cascade with the fourth-order filter. For this filter, the stop-band frequency is preferably approximately 29 kHz. The inductance value of the second stage is relatively small in comparison to the inductance values of the first stage. In this manner, improvements in xDSL band attenuation are facilitated with little or no eroding of the voice band performance such as insertion loss, pass-band attenuation and return loss.

    摘要: System and methods for determining an optimized transmit spectra (spectral distributions of transmission power) for a set of communications channels that experience cross-talk among themselves and for transmitting data on the channels. The transmit spectra are preferably constructed so that largely contiguous frequency bands are allocated to each signaling direction (upstream/downstream) on each communications channel and/or to each channel in the set of channels. In one embodiment, each communications channel is restricted to a maximum time-averaged power. The method preferably includes steps of determining the channel transfer functions of the communications channel, determining interference characteristics of the channels, calculating substantially optimal transmit spectra for the communications channels, and redistributing the frequency bins so that they are contiguously grouped in each transmit spectra. The contiguous groupings allow wider frequency bands for signaling in the channel. In one embodiment, the channel is limited by a “peak-power constraint.”

    摘要: A technique for powering telephone lines using an unbalance current source and current sink; and a technique for improving attenuation/frequency distribution and return loss (impedance matching) of transformer-coupled wire-line communications circuits by using secondary series capacitance and an AC current pump signal source; and a generation of ringing voltage as positive voltage pulses with respect to a negative power supply voltage; and a technique for removal of AC power ripple by using an active linear floating filter for the purpose of powering telephone line circuits, and a technique for injection of real time tone samples into T1 transmissions circuits by use of a T1 framer idle code register.The combination of the above five circuit techniques provides for the hardware implementation of a single printed circuit board embodiment (Line Interface Unit LIU) of a plurality of communications functions including a T1 channel service unit, a ringing generator, power converters, a ringback tone generator, and a channel bank controller. The LIU supports selectable T1 standards of communications. Dual 12-channel telephone line voice cards plug into the LIU card to provide a complete T1 channel bank control process and apparatus. The invention solves telephone line interface, power filtering, ringing generation, and tone injection problems with lower component complexity, costs, and physical size than prior art solutions.
