A mobile-cordless phone system including a mobile-cordless phone assembly; the mobile-cordless phone assembly including an external-phone-body and an internal-circuitry system. The external-phone-body and the internal-circuitry system are structured and arranged to provide the user with a device useful for communications with the internal-circuitry useful for providing a user with a portable telephone with the capabilities to operate on a wireless cellular network and, optionally, a telephone landline. The mobile-cordless phone assembly may be weather-resistant in some embodiments, and may include a multi-color-LED-light-source useful for providing visual indications and notifications to the user. The mobile-cordless phone system includes a solar panel for charging. The mobile-cordless phone assembly may also include a charging-port for connecting a charging-device to the mobile-cordless phone system. Preferred embodiments may also include a fingerprint-reader.

A system for effecting at least one prearranged notification after a calling instrument places a call using a predetermined number; the system including: (a) a jack unit for coupling the calling instrument with an outgoing telecommunication connection; and (b) a server unit coupled with the outgoing telecommunication connection. The server unit is coupled with a plurality of notification media. The jack unit detects when the calling instrument places the call using the predetermined number. When the call is completed, the jack unit alerts the server unit of a completion of the call to the predetermined number. The server unit responds to the alerting by effecting the at least one prearranged notification via at least one notification medium of the plurality of notification media.

Provided is a telephone switch such that an incoming call to an extension within the telephone switch can be picked up from a mobile terminal. The telephone switch includes: a receiving dial table which registers dial data that a mobile terminal uses to pick up an incoming call to a fixed-line telephone connected to the telephone switch; a conversion dial table which registers a call pick-up number used within the telephone switch for carrying out call pick-up of an incoming call to the fixed-line telephone; and a dial conversion unit configured such that when dial data sent by the mobile terminal is received when there is an incoming call to a fixed-line telephone, the dial conversion unit determines whether or not the received dial data sent from the mobile terminal matches the dial data in the receiving dial table, and if the dial data match, converts the received dial data to a call pick-up number in the conversion dial table such that the incoming call to the fixed-line telephone is picked up from the mobile terminal.
