Abstract:
Generally disclosed and claimed is an non-belt driven motor vehicle cooling fan having an interruptible driving force such as electrical or hydraulic driving force. More specifically disclosed is a vehicle cooling fan having an driving force interrupted when the vehicle enters water that may contact the fan.
Abstract:
An engine start system for use with a ground engaging vehicle, the system including an input device, a processing circuit, a display and an engine controller unit. The input device produces a signal when depressed, the signal initiates the application of electrical power to the engine start system. The processing circuit is activated by the application of electrical power thereto. The display is communicatively coupled with the processing circuit. The input device produces another signal when depressed. The other signal is detected by the processing circuit and the processing circuit, in response to the other signal, sends either a PIN request notice to the display or a start signal to the engine controller unit.
Abstract:
An optical device includes at least one optical fiber cable receiving area for receiving at least one optical fiber cable, the receiving area being sized to receive a covering for covering at least a portion of the transition area, and at least one optical fiber cable transition portion disposed at the receiving area, the optical fiber cable transition portion being responsive to and supporting the covering when pressure from the covering is applied to the transition area and the covering and said transition area together form a buffer zone associated with at least a portion of the cable receiving area. Methods include providing a multi-port optical connection terminal having a stub cable port; connecting a stub cable assembly including a stub cable to the stub cable port; and forming a sloped buffer zone between the stub cable port and the stub cable to relieve stress in the stub cable.
Abstract:
According to various embodiments, an event production kit is provided that includes storage cases for storing production equipment, such as cameras, monitors, and microphones, and an electronic production equipment case for storing an audio mixer, a video switcher, and computers for encoding and distributing the production. In addition, in one embodiment, the electronic production equipment case includes a vertical panel that includes a plurality of ports that are pre-wired to the audio mixer, video switcher, and the computers for coupling the production equipment together. The storage cases and the pre-wired panel facilitate transporting the kit to the event location and reduce the amount of time and resources required for setting up the equipment prior to the event, according to various embodiments. In addition, the selection of the type of equipment included in the kit, according to one embodiment, provides for a high quality, lower cost production than is currently available.
Abstract:
A method for providing a web-based mall portal for an affiliate that provides access to at least one of merchant web sites and service provider web sites through at least one of merchant information pages and service provider information pages, where the merchant information pages and the service provider pages are at least partially co-branded with the affiliate. In an exemplary embodiment, the method includes the steps of: receiving a request from the affiliate for a mall web site that provides access to the merchant web sites and the service provider web sites through the merchant information pages and the service provider information pages; generating the mall web site; providing the affiliate with administrative access to the mall web site; and providing credit to the affiliate for revenue generating activities conducted at the merchant web sites and service provider web sites as a result of access of the merchant web sites and service provider web sites though the merchant information pages and service provider information pages provided at the mall web site.
Abstract:
A cooling system for cooling a flow of fluid from a heat source includes a turbine configured to be fluidly connected to the heat source. The turbine is configured to receive the flow of fluid from the heat source. The cooling system also includes a fan configured to be driven by the turbine. The fan includes at least one channel for receiving the flow of fluid from the turbine.
Abstract:
This invention relates to novel whitening agents for cellulosic substrates. The whitening agents are comprised of at least two components: at least one chromophore component and at least one polymeric component. Suitable chromophore components generally fluoresce blue, red, violet, or purple color when exposed to ultraviolet light, or they may absorb light to reflect these same shades. The whitening agents are further characterized by having a dispersion component value of the Hansen Solubility Parameter of less than or equal to about 17 MPa0.5. This invention also relates to laundry care compositions including but not limited to liquid and/or powder laundry detergent formulations and rinse added fabric softening (RAFS) compositions that comprise such whitening agents.
Abstract:
A marine locator device including: a light section including a visible light emitter and an infrared light emitter; a communication device operable to broadcast an information signal; a controller operable to communicate with and control the light section and the communication device; a power supply electrically connected with the light section, the communication device, positioning system, and a controller; and a positioning system configured to determine geographic coordinates of the device, wherein the controller is operable to communicate with and control the positioning system and to incorporate the geographic coordinates into the information signal.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a technique for organizing a plurality of content items. In an embodiment, the technique comprises assigning to each content item a content item array or bit string, wherein each unique ordinal or bit position indicates a characteristic of the content item. The content items may be filtered by applying a content filter including at least one filter rule concerning at least one characteristic of each content item. In an embodiment, a user preference bit string is used to indicate a user preference for one or more characteristics of the content items. The user preference bit string may be compared to each content item bit string to determine relevance a content item, and to order the content items according to the user's preferences. In an embodiment, the content items may be cached using a cache key generated from the user preference bit string.
