Abstract:
A rotating component of a turbine engine is provided and includes a wheel having a face to which fluid flow is provided and a plurality of impeller vanes forming a plurality of grooves along which the fluid flow is directed from an outer to an inner diameter of the wheel face, at least one of the plurality of the impeller vanes including a radially inwardly facing vane surface formed to define a cutaway portion.
Abstract:
A unified session detail records of a multi-hop session is provided. The multi-hop session may be established through multiple nodes in a VoIP network. Each node may generate session detail records for the legs of the multi-hop session that are connected to the node. The nodes on the path of the multi-hop call may send the record to a single node to consolidate the session detail records of the legs of the multi-hop call in the single node so that the single node can provide unified session detail records of the multi-hop session. By providing unified session detail records, the user does not need to track down the nodes that are on the path of the multi-hop call to obtain the session detail records of the multi-hop session.
Abstract:
In various embodiments, systems and methods are presented for providing resources by way of a platform as a service in a distributed computing environment to perform a job. The system may be comprised of a number of components, such as a task machine, a task location service machine, and a high-level location service machines that in combination are useable to accomplish functions provided herein. It is contemplated that the system performs methods for providing resources by determining resources of the system, such as virtual machines, and applying auto-scaling rules to the system to scale those resources. Based on the determination of the auto-scaling rules, the resources may be allocated to achieve a desired result.
Abstract:
A magnetic shield having non-magnetic gaps provides reduced magnetic cross-talk for a linear motor array in a precision positioning system. Redirecting the leakage flux limits the cross-talk and associated deleterious effects. Such preferred magnetic circuit paths for the leakage are affixed to the moving magnet system of the linear motor. Embodiments of the preferred flux leakage paths are realized by providing a ferromagnetic shield separated by a non-magnetic gap between the permanent magnets and the back-irons. In another embodiment, the ferromagnetic shield separation includes diamagnetic materials.
Abstract:
A multi-cyclone sediment filter having a sediment bowl with a hemispherical bottom and a sump for collecting sediment, a cylindrical cyclone housing disposed above and sealingly connected to the sediment bowl, a removable and replaceable cyclone cartridge inserted into the cyclone housing, a diffuser plate sealingly connected to the cyclone cartridge and cyclone housing, a fluid inlet for introducing fluid into the cyclone housing, and a fluid outlet for discharging fluid from the cyclone housing. The cyclone cartridge inserted in the cyclone housing includes a plurality of vertically disposed inverted cone-shaped fluid cyclones, each having a small opening at a lower end and larger opening at an upper end. The cartridge has a plurality of fluid flow paths that direct fluid to the cyclones where a vortex is induced in the moving fluid. As sediment is removed from the fluid in each cyclone, it is separated out and delivered down into the sediment bowl sump, while fluid is directed upwardly and out to the fluid outlet.
Abstract:
A dynamic multimedia fingerprinting system is provided. A user requests multimedia content from a Web cache server that verifies that the user is authorized to download the content. A custom fingerprint specific to the user is generated and dynamically inserted into the content as the content is delivered to the user. The custom fingerprint can be generated on the Web cache server or at the content provider's server. The system allows a content provider to specify where the custom fingerprint is inserted into the content or where the fingerprint is to replace a placeholder within the content.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, data in an application floorplan is exposed in a controlled way for integrating new external services to the application floorplan. Service definitions of the external service for integration with the application floorplan is generated. Further, a semantic type data of a global data type used in the application floorplan is generated. Upon generating the semantic type data, a semantic type mapping of an instance of the semantic type data is generated. Furthermore a map between a service parameter of the external service and the semantic type mapping is presented. Thereby, the application floorplan and the external service are integrated by executing the external service in the application floorplan using the generated map.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a system and method for allocation of mainframe computing resources using distributed computing. In particular, the present application is directed to a system whereby a mainframe process intended for execution on a metered processor may be identified as executable on a non-metered processor. Thereafter, the mainframe computer may initiate execution of the remote process on the remote non-metered processor. If necessary, high-speed access to data available to the metered processor is provided to the non-metered processor. The process operates directly on data available to the metered processor. Once completed, the process signals the mainframe computer that the process is complete. Both metered and non-metered processor configuration and management may be accomplished using the administrative interface.
Abstract:
A motor starter system includes a plurality of switches, and a controller operatively connected to each of the plurality switches. The controller is configured and disposed to selectively activate select ones of the plurality of switches upon detecting a particular phase angle of each of a plurality of phases of a multi-phase electrical source.
