Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described for wireless communication at a base station. The base station may transmit a control message to a set of user equipments (UEs) using a directional transmission having a first beamform width. The base station may exchange, according to the control message, data messages with a first UE of the set of UEs using a directional transmission having a second beamform width. The second beamform width may be different from the first beamform width. The base station may exchange, according to the control message, data messages with a second UE of the set of UEs using a directional transmission having a third beamform width. The third beamform width may be different from the first beamform width, the second beamform width, or both.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a number of beam directions that satisfy a transmission power condition. The UE may select a beam direction for a random access signal by choosing one of the beam directions that satisfies additional criteria, such as transmitting a random access message at the next opportunity. The transmission power may be selected based on a target receive power and a path loss for the selected beam. In some cases, if the sum of the path loss for a beam direction and the target receive power exceeds a maximum transmission power by more than a predetermined amount, the random access signal will not be transmitted using that beam. In some cases, if a response to the random access is not received, a different beam direction may be selected, the transmission power may be increased, or both.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for hop-count indication in an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network. An IAB-node may adopt and indicate multiple values for hop-count. The hop-count may be conveyed by a number of different reference signals and channels. A resource pattern and/or a slot pattern may also be associated with the hop-count to simply signaling. By associating the patterns with the hop-count, an IAB-node may be able to infer the resource pattern used by another IAB-node.

In aspects, a UE may receive, from a base station, a beam modification command indicating at least one beam index for communicating through at least one beam on at least one channel. In an aspect, each beam index of the at least one beam index may indicate at least a direction for communicating through a corresponding beam of the at least one beam. The UE may communicate, with the base station, through the at least one beam corresponding to the at least one beam index on the at least one channel.

Abstract: A first RAN may determine beamforming information for a UE served by the first RAN. Then, the first RAN may transmit, to a second RAN or a core network, paging information for the UE served by the first RAN, wherein the paging information comprises the beamforming information for the UE. A core network component, e.g., an AMF, may receive the paging information comprising the beamforming information for the UE and may send a paging request to a second RAN for the transmission of a paging message to the UE, wherein the paging request is based on the received paging information. The second RAN may receive, from the first RAN or from the core network, paging information for the UE comprising beamforming assistance information for the UE. The second RAN may then transmit a paging message to the UE based on the beamforming assistance information.

Another method involves receiving a maximum number of consecutive MSG1 retransmissions to be performed, and transmitting consecutive MSG1 retransmission signals for the maximum number of times.

The UE may provide measurement reports associated with each of the measurements to the base station. A particular receive beam to be used for a downlink transmission may be selected from the multiple receive beams and may be indicated to the UE.

Each set of reference symbols may include two (or more) beamformed signals. The network device may receive, based on the set of reference symbols, a measurement report from the UE. The measurement report may include a co-phasing indicator associated with the set of reference symbols. The network device may identify, based at least in part on the measurement report, an antenna port precoder configuration to use for communicating with the UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device may identify a set of power configurations for a plurality of communications with at least one target device. The set of power configurations may be based at least in part on a type of signal, a type of channel, a parameter of the wireless device, a parameter of the target device, or a combination thereof. The wireless device may then determine a duplexing mode for the plurality of communications based at least in part on the set of power configurations. The duplexing mode may be, for example, a full duplex mode or a half-duplex mode. The wireless device may then transmit the plurality of communications to and/or receive the plurality of communications from the at least one target device according to the set of power configurations and the selected duplexing mode.
