Abstract:
The disclosure relates in some aspects to the establishment, discovery, and creation of virtual wireless communication networks. A device can create a virtual wireless communication network with a serving mobile network operator (MNO), e.g., via a service provider, and provide information regarding connectivity to the virtual wireless communication network. Provided information can include, without limitation, restricted access to content and uploaded specific content. The disclosure also relates in some aspects to enabling a network to configure access and policing entities to support a virtual wireless communication network.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates in some aspects to establishing connectivity with a network using a first set of credentials and determining whether additional connectivity needs to be established (e.g., using a second set of credentials) to communicate data. The disclosure relates in some aspects to the use of multiple credentials for access and service connectivity. For example, traffic generated by a device may be authorized based on a different set of credentials than the set of credentials used to access the network (e.g., to connect to an LTE network for a PDN connection). In this way, traffic belonging to a specific service or application can be charged and policed based on service specific needs. The disclosure thus relates in some aspects to the use of access credentials and service credentials. These different types of credentials can be used to enable traffic differentiation and policing based on the credentials in use.
Abstract:
In one or more mobile stations of a wireless communication network, a method for network node selection in a wireless communication system by a mobile entity may include receiving, from a home network, a message comprising a policy associated with network node selection, determining whether the home network policy has precedence over a policy of a visited network based on the message, and selecting a network node based on the policy of the home network, in response to determining the home network policy has precedence over the visited network policy. The policy may include at least one of mobility or routing policies. The message may include an indication of precedence between the home network and one or more visited networks. A communication apparatus, for example a mobile entity, may be configured for performing these and other aspects of the method.
Abstract:
A network entity may be configured for prioritizing radio access types for CSG cells of a wireless communication system by storing priority information defining, for each of one or more types of data traffic (e.g., IP traffic, voice traffic, etc.), a priority ranking of cell types comprising at least one of different wireless technologies and different access control types (e.g., a CSG mode, a hybrid mode and an open mode), and indicating the priority information to a mobile device for connecting to cells of a wireless communications system. A corresponding mobile entity may be configured for receiving the priority information as described, and selecting a cell to connect to or camp on based on the priority information.
