Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for array antenna adaptive digital pre-distortion with Bayesian observation analysis are provided. One method may include selecting a plurality of patch elements from an array antenna of a network element. The method may also include determining an accuracy confidence value for each patch element. A set of coefficients of the antenna array may be generated. In addition, an ensemble of non-linear forward models may be generated using the accuracy confidence value and the set of coefficients. Further, an array of pre-distortion signals may be generated using the ensemble of non-linear forward models, and each antenna of the array antenna may be configured with a corresponding pre-distortion signal from the array of pre-distortion signals.

Abstract: An optical line terminal is disclosed. The optical line terminal comprises at least one processor; and at least one memory including machine-readable instructions. The at least one memory and the machine-readable instructions are configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the optical line terminal to determine based on one or more variables a relationship between bandwidth efficiency and latency for communication of contents of a queue buffer of an optical network unit with the optical line terminal via an optical distribution network, and determine a burst schedule for the queue buffer based on the determined relationship.

Abstract: A communication system in which DRA control is aided by RL. An example embodiment may control one or more buffer queues populated by downstream and/or upstream data streams. The egress rates of the buffer queues can be dynamically controlled using an RL technique, according to which a learning agent can adaptively change the state-to-action mapping function of the DRA controller while circumventing the RL exploration phase and relying on extrapolation of the already taken actions instead. This feature may result in at least two benefits: (i) cancellation of a performance penalty typically associated with RL exploration; and (ii) faster learning of the environment, as the learning agent can determine the performance metrics of many actions per state in a single occurrence of the state. In an example embodiment, the communication system may be a DSL system, a PON system, or a wireless communication system.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to dynamical changes in access and mobility policies. According to embodiments, an Application Function entity can request the Access and Mobility related entity to modify the access and mobility policies for a terminal device after the discovery of the Access and Mobility related entity. Alternatively, the Access and Mobility related entity obtains access and mobility policies from a User Data Repository that link traffic of an application on a PDU Session towards to access and mobility policies and configure the AM policy based on a detection of traffic change done under control of a Session Management related entity. Therefore, the access setting and/or the mobility setting can be dynamically changed based on the traffic change in the application.

Abstract: Various example embodiments for supporting an in-band control plane are presented. Various example embodiments for supporting an in-band control plane may be configured to support an in-band control plane in a Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) network. Various example embodiments for supporting an in-band control plane in an MPLS network may be configured to support an in-band control plane in an MPLS network by supporting exchange of control protocol packets of control protocols as MPLS packets, such that the control protocol messaging is in-band along the MPLS data plane itself. Various example embodiments for supporting an in-band control plane in an MPLS network may be configured to support an in-band control plane in an MPLS network by supporting communication of MPLS packets that encapsulate control protocol messages of control protocols with an MPLS label which indicates that the payloads of the MPLS packets carry the control protocol messages of the control protocols.

Abstract: An OVNA system employing an array of reference delays to estimate distance-variant phase distortion in probe light during an optical-frequency sweep thereof. The estimated distance-variant phase distortion is then used to perform a phase correction for the digital electrical signals generated in response to the probe light being passed through a device under test (DUT) during the same optical-frequency sweep. Advantageously, the performed phase correction enables the OVNA system to provide a more-accurate determination of certain optical characteristics of the DUT than that achievable without such phase correction.

Abstract: Various communication devices may benefit from the appropriate use of modeling techniques. For example, devices that include components that may be driven into non-linear ranges of operation may benefit from low complexity non-linear modelling techniques. Such devices may be used, for example, in wireless communication systems. A method can include obtaining a sample of a signal representative of power consumed by a device while the device is operating in a non-linear range while being driven according to a driving signal. The method can also include computing a correction to the driving signal based on the sample. The correction can be calculated based on a plurality of non-overlapped non-linear sections corresponding to a response of the device. The method can further include applying the correction to adjust the driving signal. The correction can be configured to adjust the power to a desired value of power.
