    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The method includes receiving a transmission from a first wireless device at a second wireless device, the transmission including a first coexistence preamble configured to reserve a channel of a shared radio frequency band for a first period of time, a first segment, and a second segment, where the first coexistence preamble comprises an initial channel reservation sequence and a data field indicating information about the first period of time; and transmitting, during a gap period between the first segment and the second segment, a receiver protection signal from the second wireless device, the receiver protection signal including a second coexistence preamble configured to reserve the channel of the shared radio frequency band for a second period of time associated with the second transmission segment.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station of a first network operator (OP) may determine a priority for the first OP for a transmission opportunity of a shared or unlicensed channel. The priority may be lower than a priority of a second OP for the transmission opportunity. Base station may transmit a tentative grant to a user equipment (UE) of the first OP scheduling transmissions over resources of the transmission opportunity. The transmitting device of the first OP may monitor a contention window for reservation signals communicated by devices of the second OP. Based on the monitoring and the tentative grant, the transmitting device of the first OP may perform the transmission over the resources of the shared or unlicensed channel.

    Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to sharing a communication medium with private networks are provided. In one embodiment, a first wireless communication device communicates with a second wireless communication device during a first transmission opportunity (TXOP) in a spectrum, a channel reservation signal to reserve a second TXOP in the spectrum subsequent to the first TXOP. The first wireless communication device communicates, with the second wireless communication device during the second TXOP, a communication signal. In one embodiment, a first wireless communication device monitors, during a first TXOP in a spectrum, for a channel reservation signal to reserve a second TXOP in the spectrum by a second wireless communication device of a priority operator, the second TXOP being subsequent to the first TXOP. The first wireless communication device determines whether to communicate with a third wireless communication device during the second TXOP based on the monitoring.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described for synchronization for wideband coverage enhancement. A user equipment (UE) may receive a primary synchronization signal (PSS) and a secondary synchronization signal (SSS) in a subframe. In one example, the SSS may be received in a symbol that is after a symbol in which the PSS is received, and after a set of symbols in which a set of other synchronization signals is received. In another example, the PSS may be received in each of a first plurality of consecutive symbols, and the SSS may be received in each of a second plurality of consecutive symbols, wherein the second plurality of consecutive symbols is after the first plurality of consecutive symbols within the subframe. The UE may synchronize with a base station based at least in part on the PSS and the SSS. Numerous other aspects are provided.

    Abstract: Wireless communication systems and methods related to service advertising and discovery with dynamic spectrum use are provided. A user equipment (UE) receives, from a first wireless communication device, a network information signal in a spectrum. The UE receives, from a second wireless communication device, a service advertising signal based on at least a synchronization to the network information signal. The service advertising signal indicates an availability of a service. The UE transmits, to the second wireless communication device, a request for the service. The first wireless communication device and the second wireless communication device are associated with different operating entities of the spectrum.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In systems supporting unlicensed downlink and licensed uplink communications, transmitter-based and/or receiver-based listen-before-talk may be implemented. In a transmitter-based scheme, a base station performs listen-before-talk on a downlink unlicensed band to monitor for signals from other base stations. In a first receiver-based scheme, a user equipment may send a clear to send signal on the licensed uplink channel or unlicensed downlink channel to assist a listen-before-talk operation at a serving base station. In a second receiver-based scheme, the user equipment monitors for downlink preamble transmissions from base stations other than a serving base station and reports detected preambles to the serving base station. The base station may schedule the user equipment based on the reported preambles. In some cases, the serving base station may signal other base stations to back off and reduce interference on the unlicensed downlink spectrum.

    Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to coordinating shared radio resources for spectrum sharing are provided. A spectrum resource control unit allocates a first resource for exclusive access by a first network operating entity in a spectrum. The exclusive access is configured for at least one of a network information communication or a feedback communication. The spectrum resource control unit allocates a second resource in the spectrum for shared access by the first network operating entity and a second network operating entity. The shared access is configured for at least a downlink control information communication. The spectrum resource control unit transmits, to the first network operating entity and the second network operating entity, a configuration indicating the first resource allocated for exclusive access by the first network operating entity and the second resource allocated for shared access by the first network operating entity and the second network operating entity.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described for slot structures using guard intervals in a single carrier waveform. Techniques provide for generating a first waveform for control information or reference signal transmissions in a first subset of symbols, and generating a second waveform for data to be transmitted in a second subset of symbols. A combination waveform may be generated based on the first and second waveforms that is transmitted to a receiver, such as by concatenating the first and second waveforms. The first waveform may be generated by appending a guard interval (GI) sequence to a reference signal or control information, and performing a discrete Fourier transform spread frequency division multiplexing (DFT-s-FDM) procedure. The second waveform may be generated by appending the GI to data to be transmitted in each symbol of the second subset of symbols, and performing the DFT-s-FDM procedure.
