    Abstract: A folding panel assembly includes at least first and second, substantially rectangular panels, the first panel having first and second vertical ends, and the second panel having third and fourth vertical ends, the second and third vertical ends being hinged to one another about a hinge axis parallel thereto. An actuating system includes a substantially horizontal track, with a first pivot support for connection to the first panel, a carriage traversable along the track, with a second pivot support for connection to the second panel. The actuating system further includes a flexible drive element arranged parallel to the track and engaging the carriage for traversing it along the track. The actuating system employs an elongated connecting rod with a first longitudinal end pivotally connected to the carriage and a second, opposite longitudinal end pivotally connected to the first panel at a location adjacent to the second vertical end thereof. A line including the first and second longitudinal ends of the elongated connecting rod, in use, is excluded from becoming aligned with respect to the first panel in any position of the carriage along the track.

    Abstract: A refrigerator includes a storage compartment having a door at its front end which is hinged to swing about a horizontal pivot axis disposed along a lower edge of the door. The hinge is mounted on a slidable member for forward and rearward sliding movement. The door is connected to the refrigerator body by a pivoted arm arrangement which is connected to the slidable member to cause the hinge to be slid forwardly when the door is opened, and to be slid rearwardly when the door is closed.     Abstract: The coordinator has a pair of spaced-apart limbs pivotably mounted to a housing; one of the limbs functions to hold a door open, whereas the other limb is disclosed for impingement by another door and, as a consequence thereof, causes activation of the door coordinator, i.e., triggers a proper, sequential closing of the two doors, in which the inactive door proceeds to close, while the active door is held open. A carriage slidably mounted to the housing has a lobe which intrudes into the pivotable arc of one of the limbs to prevent that limb from allowing its door to close before the door, held open by the other limb, has closed. A blocking arm keeps the carriage in its lobe-intrusive position, and has a linkage with the other limb. Accordingly, as the other limb permits the closure of its door, the linkage moves the blocking arm to allow the second door to close. If an unusually excessive force is applied to the second door, toward its closure before the other, a rod supported by the carriage moves against the blocking arm, displaces it, and allows the second door to close.
