Abstract: A clip includes first and second portions that are joined to one another by a living hinge. A snap includes first and second coupling elements that are respectively provided on the first and second portions. The first and second coupling elements are decoupled from one another in an open clip position and are coupled to one another in a closed clip position. Each of the first and second portions define an elongated slot that extends through a width of the clip that has an open end and a closed end. The open ends face a same direction. Each of the first and second portions include a first and second spring respectively. The first and second springs face one another. The first and second springs are configured to clamp about a wiring in the closed clip position.

Abstract: A method for lane marker recognition includes: providing a filter bank with a plurality of different pairs of filters adapted to detect the left edge and the right edge of a specific type of a lane marker, respectively; receiving an image of a road; dividing the image of a road into a plurality of image segments, wherein each image segment includes at least one row of pixels of the image of a road; and for each of the image segments: applying a plurality of the pairs of filters of the filter bank to the image segment to generate a plurality of filter outputs; and determining which of the filter outputs correspond to a lane marker by using geo-metric information and appearance based information, wherein the geometric in-formation describes allowable dimensions of a determined lane marker, and the appearance based information describes allowable pixel values of a determined lane marker.

Abstract: Wired connector assembly systems and methods involve fixing a connector in an assembly station and following, by an assembler, a set of instructions indicating a set of wires and a respective set of terminal portions of the connector in which the set of wires are to be seated. A controller of the assembly station then monitors a pulling force on the connector via each seated wire to verify proper wire-terminal portion seating. After completing the set of instructions, including verifying each proper wire-terminal portion seating, the connector is released from the assembly station and a fully assembled wired connector is obtained.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for extended object tracking using RADAR return points only. The techniques include receiving the return points from at least one RADAR sensor of the vehicle. One or more clusters based on or from the return points are generated. An estimated position and velocity of each of the one or more clusters is computed. A Recursive Least Squares (RLS) based algorithm is proposed to estimate the instantaneous velocity of a cluster in real-time that allows for accurate track-cluster association, removes the need to perform computationally expensive non-linear state updates, and allows for the estimation of the true velocity even in frames with a large amount of clutter. If it is determined that the one or more clusters are associated with an existing object track, the existing object track is updated using at least the respective positions of the one or more clusters associated with the existing object track.

Abstract: A method for operating an automated vehicle includes controlling by one or more computing devices an autonomous vehicle; receiving by one or more computing devices sensor data from the vehicle corresponding to moving objects in a vicinity of the vehicle; receiving by one or more computing devices road condition data; and determining by one or more computing devices undesirable locations related to the moving objects. The undesirable locations related to the moving objects for the vehicle are based at least in part on the road condition data. The step of controlling the vehicle includes avoiding the undesirable locations.

Abstract: An apparatus configured to twist a first wire about a second wire is presented herein. The apparatus includes a securing mechanism configured to secure ends of the first wire and the second wire. The first wire is arranged parallel to the second wire along a longitudinal axis. The apparatus further includes a gripping mechanism configured to grip central portions of the first and second wires, a tensioning mechanism configured to apply a lateral offsetting force to the gripping mechanism, thereby deflecting the central portions of the first and second wires orthogonally from the longitudinal axis, and a rotating mechanism configured to rotate the gripping mechanism, thereby twisting the first and second wires about one another. A method of twisting a pair of wires is also presented.
