Abstract: An intraocular lens insertion apparatus includes a distal end member which is inserted through an incision in an eyeball of a patient, an opening member provided for the distal end member through which an intraocular lens is ejected, and an indicator provided for the distal end member. The indicator is used for indicating that an entire part of the opening member is inside a cornea of the eyeball or inside a sclerocornea of the eyeball with respect to an external flap of the incision.

Abstract: Intraocular lens insertion apparatus includes a cylindrical body member configured to retain an intraocular lens, a fore-end opening provided for a tip of the body member, and a planate protrusion provided for a tip of the fore-end opening. Further, an end surface of the fore-end opening is an oblique surface which is oblique to a plane perpendicular to a central axis of the body member, and a fore-end area including a pair of lateral walls which are parallel to each other across the central axis is formed on a side of the tip of the fore-end opening.

Abstract: The tomographic image capturing device of the present invention includes a tomographic image capturing means that scans measurement light on a subject's eye fundus (E) to capture tomographic images of the subject's eye fundus and an image processing means that compresses a picture of the captured tomographic images in a scan direction to generate a new tomographic picture. The tomographic image capturing means performs scan at a second scan pitch (PL) narrower than a first scan pitch (PH) to capture the tomographic images of the subject's eye fundus. The image processing means compresses the picture (B11) of the tomographic images captured at the second scan pitch (PL) in the scan direction to generate the new tomographic picture (B12). The measurement width in the scan direction of the new tomographic picture (B12) is a width of a picture corresponding to a measurement width in the scan direction of a tomographic picture (Bn (n=1 to 10)) obtained by scan at the first scan pitch (PH).

Abstract: An image processing device comprises an enhancement processing unit that enhances a speckle pattern in an ocular fundus tomographic image. A region-of-interest setting unit sets a desired region in the ocular fundus tomographic image with the enhanced speckle pattern as a region-of-interest, and a feature value extracting unit extracts a feature value of the speckle pattern in the region-of-interest. A disease determining unit makes disease determination for an ocular fundus on the basis of the feature value, and a mapping unit maps, in the ocular fundus tomographic image, a site of the ocular fundus that is determined to have a disease. An image processing method comprises enhancing a speckle pattern in an ocular fundus tomographic image; setting a desired region in the ocular fundus tomographic image with the enhanced speckle pattern as a region-of-interest; extracting a feature value of the speckle pattern in the region-of-interest; and making disease determination for an ocular fundus on the basis of the feature value.

Abstract: It is provided an intraocular lens insertion system that achieves a preferable insertion of an intraocular lens without using viscoelastic material in an eyeball. The intraocular lens insertion system includes an intraocular lens insertion apparatus configured to use a predetermined driving force to move an intraocular lens and insert the intraocular lens into an eyeball, an irrigating solution infusion apparatus configured to infuse irrigating solution into the eyeball, a driving source configured to deliver the predetermined driving force to the intraocular lens insertion apparatus, an irrigating solution source configured to deliver the irrigating solution to the irrigating solution infusion apparatus, and a switching unit configured to switch in a multistage manner a control of a delivery of the irrigating solution from the irrigating solution source to the irrigating solution infusion apparatus and a control of a delivery of the predetermined driving force from the driving source to the intraocular lens insertion apparatus.

Abstract: [Problem] To allow imaging light to be appropriately received by a second camera in the case where a first imaging mode (color imaging mode) is changed to a second imaging mode (autofluorescence imaging mode).[Solution] In the first imaging mode, using a dichroic mirror 30 allows light LB to be received by both a first camera C1 and a second camera C2. In the second imaging mode, using a transparent glass 31 allows light LB to be received by the second camera C2. With this configuration, both in the first imaging mode and in the second imaging mode, light LB from an ocular fundus is appropriately received by the second camera C2 whereby an appropriate ocular fundus image can be taken.

Abstract: [Problem] To prevent either of two packet data having the same content from being affected by noise[Solution] A packet data transmission device (not shown) transmits first packet data 1A, . . . and second packet data 1B, . . . having the same content intermittently with an idle time I therebetween. When the length of the first and second packet data 1A, . . . , 1B, . . . is denoted by LP, the length of the idle time I is denoted by LI, the duration of low-frequency noise N is denoted by LN, the time with no low-frequency noise from the occurrence of one low-frequency noise N to the occurrence of the next low-frequency noise N is denoted by LC, the following expressions (1), (2) are satisfied. Consequently, either the first packet data or the second packet data is transmitted to a receiver without being affected by noise. LI>LN  (1) 2×LP+LI
