Abstract: A representative configuration of an airbag module including a folded or rolled airbag cushion, an inflator provided in the airbag cushion, and a case type housing for stowing the airbag cushion, wherein the housing is rectangular shaped in cross-sectional view and includes a first member forming at least one side wall of the rectangular shape, a second member that forms the remaining two or more side walls of the rectangular shape, and a rotational shaft connecting the first member and the second member enabling mutual relative rotation, and upon expansion and deployment of the airbag cushion, one of either the first member or second member rotates relative to the other around the rotational shaft causing the opening of an upper part of the case type housing to open up.

Abstract: A vehicle seat includes a seat back, an inflator, and a side airbag. The side airbag includes a head chamber housed along an upper frame of the seat back and configured to inflate and deploy between a shoulder belt and a head in response to supply of gas from the inflator in an event of side collision. The head chamber is housed while being folded in a seat up-and-down direction to reduce a vertical width and then rolled from a front end in a seat fore-and-aft direction.

Abstract: An airbag that prevents heavy interference with the head of an occupant during expansion and deployment even when the occupant is not seated in a vehicle seat in a regular position.
An airbag device 11, including an airbag 12 and an inflator 6 for supplying gas to the airbag 12. The airbag 12 is positioned to the sides of the center in the left-right direction of the vehicle seat 2 and has a pair of chambers 1a physically coupled by a coupling section 12a that deploy forward of the occupant 3 when expansion and deployment are complete. The pair of chambers 1a are respectively independent during expansion and deployment and expand and deploy frontward from both the left and right sides of the vehicle seat 2, having side protecting chambers 1 ab that cover at least the side sections 3b of the occupant 3. The side protecting chambers 1ab are coupled by coupling sections 12a positioned to the sides of the center in the left-right direction of the vehicle seat 2, and the coupling section 12a is thinner than the side protecting chambers 1ab at least during initial expansion and deployment.-

Abstract: The present invention is a side airbag device housed in the side support part of a vehicle seat and includes an airbag for restraining an occupant and an inflator. The airbag includes a first bag housing the inflator which is capable of inflating and deploying, and a second bag capable of inflating and deploying on the side of the first bag. The second bag is configured to be deployed by inflation gas flowing in from the first bag. At the upper edge of the second bag, an inclined part is formed that is inclined to be lower at the front thereof than at the rear thereof when viewed from the vehicle width direction. The front portion of the inclined part is configured to be located lower than the center line extending in the longitudinal direction of the upper arm of the occupant seated in a vehicle seat.

Abstract: The present invention is an airbag device that is housed in the instrument panel of a vehicle and includes an inflator for generating inflation gas and an airbag that inflates and deploys toward the occupant side via gas released from the inflator. The airbag has a front protection part located in front of the occupant when deployed and a pair of side protruding parts located on the sides of the front protection part in the vehicle width direction and protruding further toward the occupant side than the front protection part. Furthermore, a cross tether extending in the direction intersecting the deployment direction of the airbag and connected to the inner surface of the airbag along with a pair of first front-rear tethers connected to the cross tether at the front ends thereof and connected to the front protection part at the rear ends thereof are provided inside the airbag.
