摘要: A safety airbag, including: an air bag, having an inflated and stowed state; and a gas generator, used to inflate the air bag to the inflated state, wherein the air bag includes a body portion and a cut-out portion, the cut-out portion being formed as being cut out from the air bag, but still remaining integral with the body portion, and in the inflated state, the cut-out portion being oriented in a predetermined direction relative to the body portion via an orienting member. Using the cut-out portion to provide protection for the head of an occupant increases the utilization rate of a material for making an air bag. In addition, the height of the airbag curtain is relatively large only at the cut-out portion, and is relatively small at the remaining positions, thereby reducing the volume of the air bag.

摘要: An occupant protection device capable of suppressing the occurrence of submarining and ensuring initial waist restraint performance. An occupant protection device provided inside or below a seat cushion of a vehicle seat, provided with:

an airbag cushion capable of expanding and deploying to push up a seat surface of the seat cushion; and
an inflator that supplies gas for expansion and deployment into the interior space of the airbag cushion during a vehicle emergency. The airbag cushion includes an expansion and deployment part that expands and deploys by gas from the inflator, and an exhaust vent part protruding from the peripheral edge of the airbag cushion. The expanded and deployed airbag cushion is configured such that the exhaust vent opens and allows the internal space of the expansion and deployment part to communicate with the outside when a load acts on the expansion and deployment part.

摘要: An inflatable airbag for a motor vehicle, the airbag comprises a pair of superimposed layers of fabric which are interconnected by a peripheral seam extending around and defining the bounds of a single inflatable chamber between said layers. The inflatable chamber has an inlet region comprising a fluid inlet connected to an inflator. First and second peripherally spaced-apart regions of the peripheral seam are secured to one another such that the inlet region is superimposed with at least one other region of the inflatable chamber to thereby induce an inflated shape to the chamber upon inflation of the airbag by a flow of gas from said inflator, the inflated shape being characterised by least one said other region of the inflatable chamber lying adjacent said inflator upon inflation of the airbag.

摘要: An airbag that prevents heavy interference with the head of an occupant during expansion and deployment even when the occupant is not seated in a vehicle seat in a regular position.
An airbag device 11, including an airbag 12 and an inflator 6 for supplying gas to the airbag 12. The airbag 12 is positioned to the sides of the center in the left-right direction of the vehicle seat 2 and has a pair of chambers 1a physically coupled by a coupling section 12a that deploy forward of the occupant 3 when expansion and deployment are complete. The pair of chambers 1a are respectively independent during expansion and deployment and expand and deploy frontward from both the left and right sides of the vehicle seat 2, having side protecting chambers 1 ab that cover at least the side sections 3b of the occupant 3. The side protecting chambers 1ab are coupled by coupling sections 12a positioned to the sides of the center in the left-right direction of the vehicle seat 2, and the coupling section 12a is thinner than the side protecting chambers 1ab at least during initial expansion and deployment.
