Abstract: A central plant control system configured to serve one or more energy loads in a building comprises equipment configured to consume, produce, or store one or more resources including electricity, water, natural gas, steam, hot thermal energy, cold thermal energy, or electrical energy. The central plant control system further comprises an asset allocator configured to receive an input model that describes a physical layout of the equipment of the central plant and create a net list that defines connections between the equipment of the central plant using the input model. The asset allocator is further configured to discover one or more systems of interconnected equipment and one or more groups of equipment using the net list, formulate an optimization problem for the central plant using the systems and groups of equipment, and operate the equipment of the central plant according to the optimization problem.

Abstract: The embodiments described herein include sensor mounting clamps configured to lock a sensor, such as a temperature sensor, in place relative to a structure, such as a pipe or tube, of a heating, ventilating, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) unit. More specifically, the sensor mounting clamps described herein include sensor mounting portions configured to receive a sensor, and to hold the sensor in place relative to a structure of an HVAC unit. In addition, the sensor mounting clamps described herein include locking mechanisms having interlocking pockets configured to lock the sensor mounting clamps in place around a structure of an HVAC unit. For example, the sensor mounting clamps described herein may include interlocking pockets having interior passages configured to receive a retention piece, such as a cotter pin, cylindrical pin, or screw, to lock the interlocking pockets in place relative to each other, or may include interlocking pockets configured to directly engage with each other. In addition, the sensor mounting clamps described herein may include a flange configured to constrain longitudinal motion of a sensor.

Abstract: Systems and methods to control an electronic expansion valve (EEV) of a vapor compression system are described. A heating ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system includes control circuitry having a sensor. The control circuitry sets a control setpoint of a vapor compression system such that an electronic expansion valve operates across a first operating range. The control circuitry receives a signal from the sensor indicative of an operating condition of the vapor compression system. The control circuitry adjusts the control setpoint based at least in part on the operating condition. The control circuitry controls operation of the electronic expansion valve based at least in part on the adjusted control setpoint, wherein the electronic expansion valve operates across a second operating range, different from the first operating range, at the adjusted control setpoint.

Abstract: A building system for a building includes an environmental controller including a controller radio. The environmental controller is configured to communicate a wake-up message. The building system includes an environmental sensor including a wake-up radio and a main radio. The environmental sensor is configured to operate the main radio in a low power state. The environmental sensor is configured to receive the wake-up message from the controller radio via the wake-up radio. The environmental sensor is configured to operate the main radio in a high power state in response to a reception of the wake-up message via the wake-up radio. The environmental sensor is configured to communicate sensor data of the environmental sensor to the controller radio via the main radio in response to the main radio operating in the high power state.
