Abstract:
The invention provides a communication apparatus capable of minimizing the division and one side recording of the two-side long original, thereby generating the received recording easy for observation by the receiving user. In case the dual side recording is designated from the transmitting station or at the receiving station, even if the received information is judged not as the fixed size, the dual side recording is executed by reducing such received information to the fixed size. Also the maximum reduction ratio for reducing the size of the received information of a long-sized original for output in the recording sheet of a fixed size is selected differently in case the one side recording is designated and in case the dual side recording is designated, and is selected larger in case of designation of the dual side recording than in case of designation of the one side recording.
Abstract:
This invention has as its object to provide a facsimile apparatus capable of both side transmission, both side reading, and both side recording, which can appropriately record image data received in the both side transmission mode, and can prevent recording sheets from being wasted. When the transmitter designates both side transmission, control is made to start recording upon completion of reception of data for at least two pages, and when the transmitter does not designate both side transmission, control is made to start recording upon completion of reception of data for at least one page. When compulsory both side recording is selected at the receiver end, control is made to start recording upon completion of reception of data for at least two pages.
Abstract:
A communication apparatus and method is arranged such that, when executing a communication protocol conforming to V.34 recommendation, the communication procedure is appropriately recovered even if a second tone signal (a tone A or a tone B) is not received within 2 seconds. A CPU (central processing unit) recognizes a state of execution of the communication procedure by a modem. When the second tone A signal (or tone B signal) has not been received, the CPU causes the modem to receive the tone A signal for a defined time period. When the tone A signal has been received within the defined time period, the CPU returns the communication procedure conforming to the V.34 recommendation by the modem to the first half portion of phase 2.
Abstract:
A data processor simultaneously executes data processing and data communication, by properly adjusting the throughputs of both processes, according to the intention of a user. In case the selected throughput of the data processing becomes difficult to secure, a controller lowers the throughput of the data communication. Also, in case the throughput of the data processing becomes difficult to secure even when the throughput of the data communication is lowered by the controller, the user is asked whether the throughput of the data processing can be lowered, and, in response to an affirmative answer by the user, the throughput of the data processing is lowered.
Abstract:
The objective of the invention is to provide a communication apparatus which can prevent an RTC signal or the like from being divided into two blocks, and can maintain appropriate ECM communications. When an ECM transmission mode is selected, image information is encoded to transmit a predetermined number of bytes as one frame and a predetermined number of frames as one block. When the volume of information exceeds one block, the remaining information is transmitted as the next partial page. In this case, the information volume for one physical page is checked. If the information volume for one physical page is a specific information volume, the RTC signal or the like is prevented from being divided into the first and second partial pages by deleting or adding information.
Abstract:
A communication device such as a facsimile device, in which data is transmitted between a modem and a controller on the basis of interrupt processing, changes the rule associated with the timing of generating an interrupt request from the modem to the controller depending on the transmission rate of the modem, so that data transmission between the modem and the controller can be correctly performed even when the modem performs transmission at a high speed.
Abstract:
In an apparatus that has a main power supply and a sub-power supply. In a standby state, the main power supply is turned on for an incoming call for facsimile communication, while the main power supply is not turned on for an incoming call for speech communication. Therefore, the unnecessary turning on and off of the main power supply can be prevented. When the DRPD (Distinguish Ringing Pattern Detect) service is provided, a plurality of telephone numbers are assigned to a single communication line, and a plurality of call signals whose pattern differ are employed for receiving calls. When one of these telephone numbers is used for facsimile and another telephone number is used for a telephone, an incoming call can be identified as being either for facsimile or for telephone by distinguishing between the patterns of the call signals. When the pattern of the call signal is for facsimile, the main power supply is turned on to perform data communication. When the pattern of the call signal is for telephone, the main power supply is not turned on.
Abstract:
A facsimile apparatus which can make definite the presence or absence of optional signals such as a password signal (PWD), a sub-address signal (SUB), a selective polling signal (SEP) and the like in communication between transmitting and receiving stations, thereby preventing an erroneous operation.A digital transmit command signal (DTC) is used to notify a remote station whether a transmit command signal includes the password signal (PWD) and selective polling signal (SEP). A digital command signal (DCS) is used to notify a remote station whether a receive command signal includes the password signal (PWD) and sub-address signal (SUB).
Abstract:
A facsimile apparatus includes a control circuit. The control circuit performs control for switching between sorter bins (n), control for changing receiving terminal information consisting of a telephone number and abbreviated name of a receiver in accordance with a calling signal, control for changing a received information output method in accordance with a calling signal, and control for selecting one of a first use condition for a plurality of users and a second use condition for a single user. The first operation mode is defined by the switching control for the sorter bins (n) and change control for the receiving terminal information. This first operation mode is executed when the first use condition is selected. The second operation mode is defined by the change control for the received information output method. This second operation mode is executed when the second use condition is selected.
