Abstract:
An apparatus and method are provided for performing scheduling in a Node B for data transmission of a user equipment (UE) in a mobile communication system supporting an enhanced uplink dedicated channel (E-DCH). The Node B receives, from a radio network controller (RNC), scheduling assistance information for an uplink service to be provided from the UE. The Node B estimates a data amount for the uplink service on the basis of the scheduling assistance information in each scheduling period. The Node B schedules data transmission for the uplink service according to the estimated data amount.
Abstract:
An apparatus encodes an input information bit stream comprised of 5 bits into a (11,5) codeword comprised of 11 coded symbols. The apparatus comprises a Reed-Muller encoder for encoding the input information bit stream into a first order Reed-Muller codeword comprised of 16 coded symbols; and a puncturer for selecting a second coded symbol position or a third coded symbol position out of the 16 coded symbols constituting the first order Reed-Muller codeword, puncturing the coded symbols at intervals of 3 symbols beginning at the selected position, and thus outputting an optimal (11,5) codeword.
Abstract:
A paging method for informing a UE of the existence or absence of control information in transmission of the control information according to the support of an MBMS in a mobile communication system. In the method, paging according to a voice and packet service and paging according to an MBMS are differentiated from each other. Accordingly, a first paging indication channel for identifying the paging according to the voice and packet service and a second paging indication channel for identifying the paging according to the MBMS are differentiated from each other and used.
Abstract:
A method for ciphering MBMS (Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service) data in a wired/wireless communication system is provided. The MBMS service enables the same service or desired services to be provided to a number of users. In the ciphering method, a ciphering key for encoding MBMS data is previously provided to an authorized UE, and the authorized UE is informed of when MBMS data encoded using the ciphering key is to be transmitted, thereby preventing unauthorized UEs from illegally receiving the MBMS service.
