    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure propose techniques for continuing high-speed packet access (HSPA) during the baton handover in Time Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCD-MA) systems. In aspects of the disclosure, one techniques for performing a baton handover from a source node B (NB) to a target NB by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The technique generally includes receiving a first signal instructing the UE to perform the baton handover from the source NB to the target NB, the first signal including non-scheduled transmission grant information and transmitting data to the target NB during the baton handover in accordance with the non-scheduled transmission grant information, wherein the data is re-transmitted to the target NB a predetermined number of times.
