A method for small scale time increased bandwidth assignment to increase optical network unit ONU downstream energy efficiency includes splitting of downstream scheduling cycles into multiple rounds, using selective ones of the multiple rounds as probing rounds and other than said selective ones of the multiple rounds as fixed rounds, the probing rounds and fixed rounds being cooperatively selected for energy efficiency without limitations in length of the downstream scheduling cycles.

A method implemented in a base station used for a downlink multi-user (MU) multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system is disclosed. The method includes receiving an indication of a quantized matrix from each of a plurality of scheduled user equipments, precoding data streams for the plurality of scheduled user equipments, transmitting the precoded data to the plurality of scheduled user equipments. A method for a transmit precoder for multicast communication over a downlink in a wireless network, including: initializing a transmit precoder, a channel estimate for each user in the wireless network; updating for each user a receive filter and a slack matrix; updating the transmit precoder by solving a second order cone routine solvable in closed form; determining if a predetermined convergence is met; and outputting the updated transmit precoder responsive to the convergence criteria.

A system and method for implementing a network encoding scheme includes buffering a signal in quantized form at a node of a network and permuting the signal into a particular order of code blocks. The code blocks are rotated using at least one key which has been assigned to the node, wherein the at least one assigned key is a value which is used to control the amount of rotation. The rotated code blocks are then combined to generate a combined signal. The combined signal is permuted back to generate at least one output signal.
Abstract:
A cell phone having distributed artificial intelligence services is provided. The cell phone includes a neural network for performing a first pass of object recognition on an image to identify objects of interest therein based on one or more criterion. The cell phone also includes a patch generator for deriving patches from the objects of interest. Each of the patches includes a portion of a respective one of the objects of interest. The cell phone additionally includes a transmitter for transmitting the patches to a server for further processing in place of an entirety of the image to reduce network traffic.

Methods and systems for generating verification conditions and verifying the correctness of a concurrent system of program threads are described. The methods and systems determine and employ mutually atomic transactions to reduce verification problem sizes and state space for concurrent systems. The embodiments provide both an adequate and an optimal set of token-passing constraints for a bounded unrolling of threads.
