Abstract: In a window lifting mechanism 10 for motor vehicles, with an engagement member 16 which engages at a window pane, a slide member 24 which is connected with the engagement member and is supported to be slidable at a guide rail 26, and a cable drive 12 to move the engagement member 16 along the guide rail 26, the engagement member 16 is supported at the slide member 24 so as to be slidable in the longitudinal direction X of the guide rail 26, i.e. simply by attaching the engagement member 16 at a bearing part which in turn is supported to be slidable at the slide member 24 in the longitudinal direction X. With this simple arrangement an increase in the lift of the window lifting mechanism at a specified length c of the guide rail 26 is achieved, while maintaining the mechanical stability of the window lifting mechanism with respect to tilting motions of the window pane which lie in the plane of the window pane. Preferably a steel band loop 44 is used as the bearing part. In an additional embodiment, the steel band is slidably supported directly at the guide rail which is constructed as a C-rail, wherein at least one end of the guide rail a deflection for the band is provided.

Abstract: There is described a roller assembly which is adapted to be snapped into and out of a channel of a sliding frame closure which device is used to adjust the effective height of the closure relative to an aperture frame in which it is installed. The roller assembly or device comprises an outer stationary frame member having a pair of correspondingly positioned canted slots formed therein and means provided on the outer frame member to permit frictional and mechanical engagement of the assembly within the channel of the sliding frame closure; an inner frame member adapted to be mounted within the outer frame member and having at least one roller wheel fixedly mounted therein for rotation about its axis; the inner frame member being mounted for vertical movement within the outer frame member by means of a transverse pin which extends through the canted slots of the outer frame member; the inner frame member being secured by adjustment means to the outer frame member such that on tightening of the adjustment means, the transverse pin secured through the inner frame member slides down the canted slot moving the roller wheel vertically downward and reverse movement occurs on loosening of the adjustment means. Abstract: A sliding door of the type employed in public transport vehicles and driven by an electric motor comprises at least one door-leaf coupled with a nut mounted on an endless screw which is driven in rotation in order to open and/or close the door. The nut is displaced in translational motion within a guide which prevents rotational motion. The locking device comprises means for interrupting the translational displacement of the guided nut at the end of travel and for permitting angular rotation of the nut with the endless screw, means for limiting the angular displacement of the nut and finally means for limiting the translational motion of the nut if it is displaced along the endless screw and no longer engaged in the guide.

Abstract: A roller assembly for sliding doors and the like includes a case adapted for mounting on the door and forming a cavity that is open at the end adjacent the sliding edge of the door, a carrier located within the cavity of the case and mounted for reciprocating movement relative to the open end of the cavity, and at least one roller journaled on the carrier adjacent the open end of the cavity and projecting beyond the case. A cam is journalled on the case, and a cam follower is provided on the carrier for adjusting the position of the carrier in response to rotational movement of the cam. The case comprises a unitary molded plastic member with the bearings for the cam being formed by a pair of opposed walls of the case, and the bearings open into a pair of slots extending continuously from the bearings to one end of the case for admitting the cam into the bearings as the carrier is inserted into the case. The case is sufficiently resilient to permit the opposite edges of each slot to be moved away from each other as the cam is urged into the bearings, with the opposite edges of the slots then returning to their original positions to hold the cam captive in the bearings. The cam forms an arcuate slot holding the follower captive therein and extending along an arc that is eccentric with respect to the axis of rotation of the cam, so that rotation of the cam in opposite directions moves the carrier in opposite directions within the case. One of the arcuate edges of the cam slots forms a plurality of detents for positioning the follower at selected locations along the length of the arcuate slot.

Abstract: A lock and safety release for power operated doors of the type in which the door is normally connected to a door operator for movement thereby, and in which the connection of the door to the door operator can be released to enable manual movement of the door. The lock and safety release includes inner and outer emergency release handles at opposite sides of the door which are selectively operable to disconnect the door from the door operator, and a lock mechanism for locking the outer emergency handle to prevent its operation to disconnect the door from the door operator and to also disable the door operator to prevent powered movement of the door by the door operator. The inner release handle remains operative to disconnect the door from the door operator to enable manual operation of the door when the outer handle is locked and the power operator is disabled.
