摘要: A method for graph-based spatiotemporal video segmentation and automatic target object extraction in high-dimensional feature space includes using a processor to automatically analyze an entire volumetric video sequence; using the processor to construct a high-dimensional feature space that includes color, motion, time, and location information so that pixels in the entire volumetric video sequence are reorganized according to their unique and distinguishable feature vectors; using the processor to create a graph model that fuses the appearance, spatial, and temporal information of all pixels of the video sequence in the high-dimensional feature space; and using the processor to group pixels in the graph model that are inherently similar and assign the same labels to them to form semantic spatiotemporal key segments.

摘要: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a recurrent framework based on Recurrent Highway Networks (RHNs) for sequence modeling using batch normalization. In certain embodiments, constraints within the RHNs are relaxed to reduce or avoid gradient vanishing or exploding by normalizing the current transition units in highway layers.

摘要: Methods of creating one or more audio objects to accompany a sequence of multimedia objects are disclosed. According to one embodiment, the method includes using a processor to analyze the multimedia objects and corresponding recorded metadata to generate derived metadata. The method further receives a selection of one or more analysis tools that are configured to analyze the recorded and derived metadata. Next, a selected subset of multimedia objects are identified and sequenced, which will ultimately be coupled to and accompanied by one or more audio objects. Lastly, an embodiment of the present invention generates an audio track to accompany the selected subset of multimedia objects.

摘要: A system and method that performs iterative foreground detection and multi-object segmentation in an image is disclosed herein. A new background prior is introduced to improve the foreground segmentation results. Three complimentary methods detect and segment foregrounds containing multiple objects. The first method performs an iterative segmentation of the image to pull out the salient objects in the image. In a second method, a higher dimensional embedding of the image graph is used to estimate the saliency score and extract multiple salient objects. A third method uses a metric to automatically pick the number of eigenvectors to consider in an alternative method to iteratively compute the image saliency map. Experimental results show that these methods succeed in accurately extracting multiple foreground objects from an image.

摘要: Embodiments of the present disclosure include a method that obtains a digital image. The method includes extracting a word block from the digital image. The method includes processing the word block by evaluating a value of the word block against a dictionary. The method includes outputting a prediction equal to a common word in the dictionary when a confidence factor is greater than a predetermined threshold. The method includes processing the word block and assigning a descriptor to the word block corresponding to a property of the word block. The method includes processing the word block using the descriptor to prioritize evaluation of the word block. The method includes concatenating a first output and a second output. The method includes predicting a value of the word block.

摘要: A high resolution image of a CCD camera subassembly is examined to determine whether dust is present inside the subassembly. By examining the size, number, and location of the dust particles it can be determined whether the dust is likely to cause issues when the camera subassembly is integrated into a fully assembled document scanner. Other contaminants and defects, such as scratches on the glass covering, can also be detected. This method can be used as the acceptance criteria of individual camera subassemblies from the manufacturer.

摘要: A user interface control for an image product creation application is used for adding user supplied text or graphic elements to an image product, wherein the user interface control is responsive to the position relative to a user supplied image, a recognized object within the user supplied image, or an image product related feature, wherein the user interface control provides an indication when the text or graphic elements are positioned proximal to the user supplied image, the recognized object, or the image product related feature, and wherein the user interface control modifies an attribute of the text or graphic elements when placed proximal to the user supplied image, the recognized object, or the image product related feature.

摘要: This invention is directed to autonomous document scanning operations. A scanning device and one or more stacks of documents may use motors to autonomously move the documents into position to be scanned by the scanner. The scanning device may detect properties of the documents while scanning. Multiple stacks of documents may be scanned in this manner with minimal user intervention, eliminating the need for manual intervention when scanning groups of documents.

摘要: A method for identifying a set of key video frames from a video sequence comprising extracting feature vectors for each video frame and applying a group sparsity algorithm to represent the feature vector for a particular video frame as a group sparse combination of the feature vectors for the other video frames. Weighting coefficients associated with the group sparse combination are analyzed to determine video frame clusters of temporally-contiguous, similar video frames. The video sequence is segmented into scenes by identifying scene boundaries based on the determined video frame clusters.
