    摘要： A light coupling assembly that couples a light source to a light conducting system attached to a medical instrument so that light from the light source is transmitted to a surgical site. The light coupling assembly according to the present invention includes a member formed of a heat conducting material that receives and transfers heat from the light source to a light source housing. The light coupling assembly also includes an insulating member that receives a portion of the heat conducting member and prevents an attendant from being injured by the heat generated by the light source and carried by the heat conducting member.

    摘要： A dye ink or a pigmented ink application process using, for example, any one of flexographic printing, flood coating, tinting, or other suitable technique or process to add a colored area adjacent to a thermal ink layer of a thermal material is disclosed. The colored area provides a background color, such that upon application of the heat source, a thermal image appears as being imaged onto the colored area. The process can be used to make heat activated direct thermal labels or thermal paper rolls, including cash register-type rolls, poster printer format rolls, etc. The process permits a thermal material including a thermal ink layer to be produced in various colors in relatively small print runs using conventional equipment.

    摘要： A telephony network for enabling the origination and termination of telephone calls between one or more subscriber terminals connected to a public packet network with an open addressing protocol and one or more non-subscriber terminals connected to a PSTN network. Subscribers to the telephony network have E.164 numbers mapped to their current IP address and published by a mapping server so other subscribers and non-subscribers can call the subscriber. The mapped information is published on either a HTML or XML page for direct use over the Internet by other subscribers or for use by a gateway device. The gateway device enables non-subscribers on the PSTN to directly call subscribers. Calls between subscribers completely by-pass the PSTN or the cellular network if BlueTooth or Wi-Fi enabled terminals are used. Subscribers can also call anyone with a phone number whether they are a subscriber or not.
