Abstract: An electrical cord having improved safety features comprises a plug having a body portion surrounding respective ends of first, second, and third electrical wires. A live receptacle is in electrical communication with the end of the first electrical wire. A neutral receptacle is in electrical communication with the end of the second electrical wire. A ground receptacle is in electrical communication with the end of the third electrical wire. The body portion surrounds and maintains the live, neutral, and ground receptacles in spaced apart orientation corresponding to blades on an electrical plug. An indicator is provided to indicate a state of the plug in which electricity is supplied to the plug in a proper polarity.

Abstract: A transfer ring of the type having a plurality of shoes arranged in a substantially circular configuration to define an inwardly-facing segmented cylindrical gripping surface, and a shoe for use in such a transfer ring, are disclosed. Each shoe comprises an arcuate interior surface defining a segment of the cylindrical gripping surface. The interior surface of each shoe has a first arcuate edge and an opposite second arcuate edge arranged substantially parallel to one another, and opposite first and second end edges extending between respective ends of said first and second arcuate edges. Each first end edge of each arcuate surface is mounted adjacent the second end edge of an adjacent arcuate surface, and the first end edge of at least one of the arcuate surfaces defines a varied or irregular shape along its arcuate surface.

Generally, the seam created when the first section of insulation tubing and the second section of insulation tubing are joined is covered with tape.

Abstract: Surged heat pump systems, devices, and methods are disclosed having refrigerant phase separators that generate at least one surge of vapor phase refrigerant into the inlet of an evaporator during an on cycle of the compressor. This surge of vapor phase refrigerant, having a higher temperature than the liquid phase refrigerant, increases the temperature of the evaporator inlet, thus reducing frost build up in relation to conventional refrigeration systems lacking a surged input of vapor phase refrigerant to the evaporator. The temperature of the vapor phase refrigerant is raised in relation to the liquid phase with heat from the liquid by the phase separation, not by the introduction of energy from another source. The surged heat pump systems may operate in highest heat transfer efficiency mode and/or in one or more higher temperature modes.
