摘要: A process for permitting defects or stresses in a structure to be revealed, including (a) securing by molecular bonding of a face of a first element containing crystalline material with a face of a second element containing crystalline material, so that the faces have offset crystalline lattices, the securing causing the formation of a lattice of crystalline defects and/or stress fields in a crystalline zone next to the securing interface, and (b) reducing the thickness of one of the elements until at least a thin film is obtained which adheres to the other element, along the securing interface to form the structure, the thickness of the thin film being such that its free face does not reveal the crystalline defect lattice and/or the stress fields, but allowing to perform (c) treatment of the thin film resulting in that its free face reveals the crystalline defect lattice and/or the stress fields.

摘要: A system, method and computer program product for ensuring the quality of services being provided by a protected network of computers during an ongoing security breach is provided. The quality of the services is ensured by performing secure Quality of Service actions on data packets on the network. The sQoS actions depend on whether the data packets correspond to an attack on the computer to which they are directed, called the destination computer. If the data packet corresponds to an attack, then the actions also depend on the type of attack. In case there is no attack, the actions depend on the history of attacks by data packets that had originated from the same source computer and were directed towards the same destination computer. Supported actions include HardenFW, ControlBW and ConnectionLimit.

摘要: A headend or central office or satellite uplink facility for receiving upstream video-on-demand requests and MPEG transport streams containing video program data and packetizing said video data into TCP/IP or UDP/IP packets and LAN packets and routing them through a switch to one or more cherrypicker multiplexers. Each cherrypicker multiplexer receives LAN packets, depacketizes the MPEG data, partially or fully decompresses the data and recompresses the data to another smaller bandwidth, and repacketizes the data into MPEG packets or TCP/IP or UDP/IP packets. The repacketized TCP/IP or UDP/IP packets are transmitted directly to the customer as TCP/IP or UDP/IP packet data. MPEG packets generated by the cherrypicker multiplexer are, optionally, encapsulated in LAN packets addressed to an IP dewrapper circuit. There, they are depacketized back to MPEG packets and transmitted to the appropriate transmitter or modem for transmitting to a customer. Internet data and data from application servers, referred to as iData, can also be transmitted to customers through the cherrypicker multiplexers or a downstream modem, and upstream iData can be received through the modem.

摘要: Ascertaining through integration a bias calibration level for a current control loop of a driver motor of a tape drive. The driver motor includes a current controller having as inputs a demand signal, a bias signal, and a feedback signal. The current controller includes an integrator coupled to the output. The method includes setting the demand signal to a zero current level, setting the bias signal to a level that substantially prevents the integrator from driving itself high, stepping down the bias signal to form a stepped down bias signal, measuring a sense parameter at the output of the current controller, determining whether the sense parameter is high for the stepped down bias signal, and setting the bias calibration level to a level sufficiently above the stepped down bias signal such that the integrator is not driven high when the demand signal is set to the zero current level.

摘要: A device for measuring the concentration of a gas contained in a cavity and for checking the operation of a catalytic element in an exhaust line in an automobile vehicle. A first emitter (E1) composed of an optical pumped micro-cavity and for which the emission spectrum is within the gas absorption band emits a first radiation that passes through the cavity. A second emitter emits a second radiation that passes through the cavity. A receptor measures the optical intensity (I) of the radiation that passed through the cavity.

摘要: A framework is provided that enables data mining algorithms to be plugged into it without any change to algorithm software implementations, while still providing all the standard data mining tasks. It may be implemented by the data source provider. It also then allows for the complete separation of data storage and algorithms. When the user initiates a mining session and picks an algorithm for build task or a model for an apply or test task, the framework may become responsible for preparing a set of “prompts” to the user asking him to provide some expression which is specific to the particular kind of data the user is working with.

摘要: A signal distribution system to save on the cost of cable modems for cable TV headend operators who wish to deliver broadband digital data services, DSL, video-on-demand or POTS service over their HFC CATV delivery networks. All species within the genus have a shared cable modem and a filtration and combining circuit comprised of a plurality of diplexer filters or junction boxes or both which mix baseband packet data with analog CATV signals onto coax drop lines coupled to the various subscribers and connect POTS or DSL signals onto twisted pair portions of siamese cables. Various species have the cable modem feeding digital data or packets of DOCSIS or other data or digitized DSL signals sent over the HFC to the cable modem or digitized POTS signals send over the HFC to the cable modem to either a packet switch, a DSL concentrator, a voice-over-IP gateway or some combination of the above. This data is either delivered to each subscriber as LAN packets or analog POTS signals or DSL signals or some combination of the above using coaxial cable or siamese cable drop lines.
